He scored 25 points against the Hawkeyes in Iowa's sweet 16 win in 1980. He was the best player on that Syracuse team.

Louis Orr spent eight seasons in the league, most of which with the New York Knicks. He was most recently an assistant at Georgetown under Patrick Ewing.

Louis Orr was all class. Met him once. Was wearing an Iowa jersey, and he smiled at me and told me that while we were the better team, after all those years, it still hurt. But truly a class guy

Most amazing thing about that 1980 Syracuse Iowa game is that Jim Boheim was Syracuse's coach way back then. And that was his 4th year there. He's been at Syracuse longer than Hayden and Kirk's combined tenure at iowa.

Too bad. All of my uncles, old Fred and my grandfather died of pancreatic or liver cancer, or both. It's a terrible way to go. Sorry to hear such bad news for what always appeared to be a pretty good guy.
