I have a feeling the last evaluation will be released very soon. Any predictions as to if an Iowa recruit might slip into the top 150?

I have a feeling Moss might make an appearance. And I'd even give Ahmad Wagner an outside shot.

As it stands at this moment, we have five unranked five stars. I would be mildly surprised if it ends no better.

Typo,i assume.

Do you mean Ed Morrow as in the guy that is committed to Nebraska or were you thinking of Moss?

Ed Morrow is an Interesting subject, because he has been around the top 100/110 on Rivals. And yes he's been a four star. Remember the guy we lost to Vanderbilt? Toye is/was ranked pretty high. Or Evan Boudreaux, commit to Dartmouth that we courted? He went up to around #120 as I recall, then dropped off completely and now he's coming off a GREAT senior year. Take a look at this list from Joe Henricksen.

Now, it doesn't matter much to me because we've got the guys we've got. I'm pretty happy with the players we have. But it is fun to see names on lists and having signed two of the top ten players in Illinois according to someone who follows Illinois high school basketball pretty intensely is cool with me.

Then there is Hutton who is a four star according to 247sports, and Wagner caught the attention of quite a few people this past year. Fleming matched Reaves at Oak Hill pretty well, and Reaves is ranked pretty high.

I'm just curious if after the final evaluation, the final Rivals statement on the quality of players, is Iowa still going to be without a player in the Rivals top 150? As I mentioned, I'd be mildly surprised.

Well, I was right. Rivals top 150 for 2015 was updated today for what will be the last time. No Iowa Hawkeyes made it. It's Mr. Eric Bossi's list, so being it is his opinion I won't say it is wrong or right. But I will say that I disagree with it, and look forward to watching some Hawkeyes do better than advertised as is so often the case.

Some once pretty high ranked kids saw their stock plummet:

Alex Illikainen fell to 3 star #146
Josh Reaves to 3 star #143
D.J. Williams to 3 star #118, which for him was a pretty long drop from the start of the year.

Ohio State's five guys took a big nose dive. Wondering what happened to Jaquan Lyle...a mistake? Yesterday he was a four star #30, today he is not in the top 150!?!? On the other hand searching his name Rivals says #24? Miss somewhere I suppose.

Mr. Bossi! When you go back and fix that, can you give Iowa something? Moss at 150? Anything? :)

So far 24 top 150 signees coming into the Big Ten next year....not a bad crop of newbies. I saw Ill.'s Land the other nite in theJordan Classic and he was very impressive...Ilini could surprise next year with Thorne adding 270 much needed lbs underneath. These ratings are never lock down perfect but are right more than wrong...wish our recruits had impressed objective observers enough to get noticed.

If you lose sleep over Iowa recruits snubbed by the commercial recruiting gurus it's your own damn fault.

We of course went around and around on the subject and hold different views to the accuracy of the rankings. It is kind of fun though being the team kicking the snot out of higher ranked (out of high school) talent.

ESPN has Moss as a 4* player, grade 80, if you're looking for some recognition for the recruiting class. They have Fleming, Hutton, and Wagner at grade 78, 3*s- so fairly high 3*s. Williams not rated. I'm wondering when the JC rankings come out regarding Jones.

But I think you have to look at how this class fills needs. First of all, lots of shooters. That could actually be, shocker, a strength next year and into 2016. Second, a PF who can also shoot- leading to even more of a running/shooting game, with 4 or even 5 out when Woody's on the bench. Third, more needed athleticism in Wagner. Four, a big combo guard with some PG potential to make the transition to 2016 easier.

I see this class as not the highest-rated, but high 3* level, filling needs, and changing the tempo and style of the team- faster than 2014, better shooting and more driving from the wings. Looking forward to PTL to see some skills and recruiting for 2016.

Has the ESPN ranking system changed recently?

Moss is our highest rated player at an 80, and #27 SF.

Back in 2012, Pat Ingram was an 88, #56 SG. Kyle Meyer was an 87, #41 C. Anthony Clemmons was an 82, #72 PG.

In 2011, we all know that Aaron White didn't have a great offer list, and he was rated at an 89.

Looking forward to 2016, Cordell Pemsl #29 PF is only a 79.

Do you know how the 2015 recruiting class is ranked now the D Jones has committed?
