It is...funny but I just mentioned him in another post. He said the killer is a gentle souls who you'd want your Grandma around.

Can anyone translate?

An attorney who represented Wint in six earlier cases — none of which, he says, ended in guilty verdicts — said he believes authorities have “the wrong guy.”
Even if his DNA was found on pizza crust, it doesn’t mean Wint went inside the Savopoulos mansion, much less bound and killed anyone, attorney Robin Ficker told CNN’s “New Day.”
"I know him to be a kind, gentle, nonaggressive person; (he is) someone you wouldn’t mind your grandmother going to lunch with,” the Maryland lawyer said. “… It’s a rush to judgment. There’s a presumption of innocence, which is not being mentioned by police.”

Why is this even on a wrestling message board? .............just saying ;)
Because he is blasting out all the ridiculous one liners at every event Maryland wrestling is competing at. Even Hawk Central did a write up on him in the wrestling section.

texas twister, I actually was at the Terrapin Duals the day after the All-Star Classic last year, at Maryland, and Robin Ficker wasn't there. Felt...different.

I don't know. Kerry McCoy seems like one of the really good guys in the sport, but if I were he, I would not be endorsing Robin Flicker as the type of fan I wanted to be associated with Maryland wrestling. I watched the live-streaming of the Maryland-Iowa dual last year. It looked like Maryland had a grand total of 14 fans in the seats, one of whom was this Flicker guy who shouted non-stop inanities at the wrestlers and coaches. Maryland was either shut out or won just one match during the dual, I don't remember exactly. For McCoy's sake, I hope the Maryland Athletic Director did not attend the dual. He would have found the whole thing fairly sad and in need of immediate remediation.

Wasn't Ficker practically given a seat on the mat? Or within just a few feet? For some reason I thought he had some preferential seating over regular joe reserved seats. If so, I think that's silly. Otherwise, I don't get too concerned about his nonstop cheering. They are ridiculous of course, but pretty tame.

Unfortunately, for a program like Maryland, they have to tolerate a guy like Ficker. He is a booster, most likely the biggest booster the program has. He donates a lot of money to the program. I have seen comments that he donates roughly 100K a year, which I think is an exaggeration. Either way that is huge to a wrestling program. I think the reality is closer to 25K a year, but he has surely made some significant donations which allows the program some breathing room. As someone earlier in this thread mentioned, their home dual with Iowa (who is arguable the biggest road draw in wrestling) had about "14 fans" in the stands. Needless to say a program that draws a mere "14 fans" is not solvent.

We provided tickets for 40 kids from Beat the Streets-Baltimore for this meet so I'm somewhat familiar with the UMD ticket policies. The camera angle for the streaming was misleading because most in attendance were sitting in the "upper bowl". The lower area seen during the broadcast was more expensive, preferential seating. The ticket office rep tried really hard to "give those kids a better view" - at a much higher price.
