Alright, Hawk fans. . . . On the heels of the announcement, I'm curious to know what Hawk fans are thinking. I'm guessing many of us have already decided to attend. Let's see what kind of response we get here on the wrestling board.

I normally go to wrestling meets with 4 people. My goal is to get at least 20 there. I hope others do the same. I plan on donating to GG also. I would like to see Iowa fans send 1000 kids to this meet.

Strong work hwksforlife! Wrestling for Life is, indeed, a great cause worth supporting. I, too, hope to get a bunch of friends there and agree -- if the hardcore wrestling fans reach out to their friends who are more casual fans or maybe not wrestling fans at all, we could really pack the place.

Those are my thoughts as well. This isn't just on the coaches and university. It is on all of us to spread the word and get it done right. We want championships and stud recruits. It's all our responsibility to make this a blockbuster event.

I always sponsor a group of colleagues from work for one wrestling meet each year. My original thought before this was announced was to do it for the Olympic Team Trials, but I've already had someone ask if we could do this meet, so I expect to have 15 or so people with me.

I will be in Las Vegas on this date, otherwise I would drive up from TX without a doubt. As it is, I plan to purchase tickets to donate and/or give to anyone I know in Iowa who would enjoy going, but wouldn't otherwise be there.

We'll bring a bunch of wrestlers from Central Iowa. Perfect timing for setting attendance mark actually as youth and high school tournaments haven't really started yet by mid-November.

Not to be a killjoy...but if I haven't yet taken down a nice Iowa archery buck on November 14th...which is right during the prime time...I'll probably be in a tree on my farm waiting for one. Now then, this is a big deal and I would really like to go...so maybe I will just have to make a point to "get 'er done" before then.

All excellent responses, guys. Go get 'em. Let's see how much we can fill the place!
I knew it would have to take some "divine intervention" to witness Iowa Football live with Kirk Ferentz at the helm again, but this just might do it.........................

When November 14 rolls around, get out of that dang tree and come over to Kinnick! The tree will be there on Sunday!;) And bring the family!

I cannot wait. Went online yesterday and was able to order my season tickets. Added Big10's and Olympic Trials package. Will surely buy extra tickets for this event when they become available. I plan on bringing four more that usual.

I'll be driving over from Michigan. I will be meeting family and I have buddies coming in from Denver and areas around Iowa. So, somewhere in the neighborhood of 10+ for sure. Season Tickets will be purchased shortly and the other meets I can't make will be coming your way GG.

"There will be answers."

I'm not a big wrestling fan, but this is the kind of cool Iowa's athletic department has been missing since the glory days of Hayden Fry. If the weather cooperates, I think there could be 50,000 people show up for this thing given the rabid wrestling fans in the state and area, the fact it's a football Saturday, and the novelty of the thing. And it wouldn't matter too much how they set the mat up on the field, because everyone will be able to watch up close on those fancy new video boards. I'm hoping it works out, because Iowa needs to get itself back in the spotlight, even though Mr. Ferentz would rather hide under a rock.

We will have a group of 24-28 going to both. Had been planning to be at the FB game months ago and had a smaller group, when we heard about this, it kind of took off.

It should be a hell of a day. Will probably have a minimum of 2 separate "drunks" going on....

will need to brush up on my tailgating abilities.

Okie state FB plays at Iowa State that day. Will be interesting to see if it is a night game. That would certainly help the wrestling somewhat as there are some that will go to both. How many? who knows but will be some.

Pollard might not cooperate with that if he has any say

I will be coming in from New Mexico with my family for it, and my parents are coming up from SE Iowa. Momentum is building for a High School team reunion crew too.

I went online and purchased my season tickets but did not see the option to add Big 10s and Olympic Trials, does anyone know if I can call to the ticket office and add them??

I know. I'll be back in September for a wedding, March for B1G champs, and maybe at Christmas, too. A 4th trip, too?

Yep -- a 4th trip. That's exactly what I'm sayin'.

Seriously -- weddings happen all the time. Iowa might wrestle Okie State in Kinnick Stadium once. Ever. It's a no-brainer, ping. Fire up CheapOAir and find yourself a cheap ticket, pal. Priorities.

At least ten family members and 20-30 kids from our wrestling club. Hate to wish away the rest of my summer, but we can't wait.

We got lucky with Tulsa nationals this year. It fell on that weekend last year.

Sorry if this has already mentioned but you can just show up and get tickets at the gate for the meet, right?

Most likely. Like 100 % likely but won't have reserved seats. With it being in the S EZ, it may not be the greatest seats but doubt there will be any bad seats
