Looks like the end of the road for Iowa. Oregon was probably under seeded, but that’s not really a good excuse especially if you’re a true #2 seed.

Iowa did some good things, but ultimately the lack of athleticism and defense really cost Iowa this year. I’d like to see Iowa bring in a defensive specialist as an assistant coach this next season. They’ve got to change something defensively.

This is embarrassing. I wrote up an Oregon scouting report but gave too much credit to our guards ability to D them up. Watched a lot of Pac 12 ball because I live out west. Most Pac 12 teams were able to D them up. Oregon is the best Pac 12 team because they're athletic as hell and can shoot the 3 ball like crazy. I mentioned several times this was a bad matchup for the Hawks on here but was laughed off by many. It appears many lived in the false hype of the B1G bubble on here. B1G and Iowa has some soul searching to do.

Iowa was up four with a decent lineup then Fran made a wholesale change and they out score Iowa 18-4.

0 points from our starting guards with 6 minutes left in the game. You got to feel sorry for Luka for losing hundreds of thousands for coming back.

I think it really starts with recruiting better athletes and players. Oregon is running circles around Iowa because they are more athletic and more talented. I don't see how a so-called defensive specialist changes that.

If Iowa has any hope of making a deep run in March, they need better athletes.

I don't know that many laughed at your analysis. PAC12 was undefeated in NCAA and and Oregon was regular season champ...we all knew they were pretty good team. We all over estimated Iowa's guards abilities to defend and get their shot off vs a team of athletes. I think most of us knew Fran would roll out the same starting lineup and not do anything different...and that bit him in ass.

Garza should have transferred to Oregon or Oregon State or Alabama or Houston...he would have had a chance to win a National title. He stuck with his guys and in the end, they were outclassed and outcoached.

Solid season, but I agree with Mike Hlas from the Gazette, when he stated prior to the tournament that unless this team made a deep post season run (which didn’t happen), it is not a special team, the kind that gets honored 10/20/25 years from now.

92 different colleges have made a Sweet 16 in the 21st century. Iowa is not on this list.

Just don’t see that changing anytime in the near future.

There are ways to beat teams that are more athletic than you are. Does anyone believe Loyola Chicago are more athletic than Illinois? I really hope not.

This loss is on the coaches and the game plan. It’s really that simple. Not sure why any coach on that roster thought we could beat this Oregon team in a run and gun, fast paced style game. Was never going to happen.

I like Fran and am grateful for what he’s done at Iowa, but this exact Iowa team wins this game with a better coach.

Luckily, a lot of those better athletes are already on the team.

I think the injuries to Nunge and CJ really cost us. If we could have played Nunge with Garza today we’d have had a huge advantage inside. And CJ not hitting 3s and not defending is a nightmare.

If you had ZERO expectations for the season....then it was "good".

With the starters returning and with the returning All-American, this season is a disappointment. No way around it.

Definitely not the "amazing season to remember", that we all hoped for.

But compared to the average season at Iowa over the last 20 years, it is above average. Gotta find a way to make getting to the 2nd round the FLOOR for the program, then you'll find a way to break through.
