Rubio secured a spot on a 9/11 committee. Then he skipped half of the meetings.

Interesting find. I wonder if his opponents will hit him with this over the next few weeks?

"Rubio did not give the job the attention that legislative leaders expected. He skipped nearly half of the meetings over the first five months of the panel’s existence, more than any of his colleagues, according to Florida legislature records. He missed hours of expert testimony and was absent for more than 20 votes — prompting the state House speaker who had given him the assignment to express concern, the committee’s chairman said."

This is a pattern, and I expect Rubio to get hammered over it. If he is the nominee HRC will use this to show her experience versus his lack of seriousness to do the work of governing. There just always seems to be an excuse or reason why Rubio had to miss so much work.

That's the thing. He apparently likes running in and winning elections, but not so much doing the jobs he's elected to do. He's the same way with his Senate job. He's tired of it and bored with it. Not really the traits you'd look for in a President.

This is a legitimate narrative to use against Rubio. Could be the chink in his armor.

Well, in Rubio's defense it was during fantasy football season and the man has priorities.

Rubio got in office in 2011 a decade after 9/11. He probably figured that committee had nothing left to do.

What the hell are politicians doing when they don't show up for work or show up late? Spending their time running for office instead of doing their job? It's kind of sad he didn't really stand by his convictions per the article agree w/ him or not. Typical, but sad.

Why? He'll be term-limited when he becomes tired of being president.
