It’s looking like Michigan might end up with 3 fewer games than the field. Can they still win the regular season championship?

From what I have read, it will be calculated on win percentage, so yes they can.

the B1G has not officially said anything.

I think they are gonna have Michigan play 17 games and when they have a 4 game lead in the loss column with 3 games to go, Michigan could forfeit the 3 remaining games and still win the league by a game.

Michigan won't forfeit any games, of course. But they will win a B1G Championship.

Should be based solely on number of wins with the tiebreaker being head to head if number of games is different. A 15-5 beats a 14-3 even if 14-3 beat 15-5.

How about making them play the games they missed? We went through a string where we played three games in a week. Why should they get a pass just because they did a poor job of isolating their team from the virus?

Michigan has had zero covid cases on the basketball team this year. Also making up all the games would require Michigan opponents play on back to back nights and they may not want to. It is a 2 way street. If it really mattered, they could cance the big ten tourney so Michigan could play all the cellar dwellers they are skipping.
