A hypothetical about Joe's missed free throw. If the facts are the same as last night EXCEPT immediately before Joe shoots, the official under the basket has a brainfart and holds up two fingers on one hand. (That is what I thought might have actually happened before they showed the replay.)
In that hypothetical, what is the fix? There isn't a good one. I am guessing maybe a do over (always the first refuge of a coward) and Joe gets another crack at the first free throw? Jump ball? Let the play go, and it's Bucky's fault they didn't know that ref was wrong and/or had a duty to ask? Bucky's ball because they would have got the rebound if they tried?
Any call would start to resemble the '72 Olympics.
