Rushing the Floor for a NIT game?

Valpo should have been a 15th or 16th seed in the NCAA.
They were snubbed because not enough of the regular
season conference champs won their conference
tournament.

Valpo's gym had 5,444 fans tonight and was filled to capacity.

Yup agree. I thought both them, Monmouth, St Marys should of been in. The committee really took it to the small schools this year. I mean they talked about top 50 wins and unfortunately these teams don't get many chances for top 50 wins like the Big Boys do.

I just hope next year, the committee doesn't fall in love with the PAC 12 & Big 12 like they did this year.

I thought they had one too many acc teams but Syracuse is proving everybody wrong..

Valpo is a class program. I was there
All of last weekend and went to the Florida State Game. Impressed totally with the school and basketball program. The Arc was hopping that's for sure. Peters is one of the best pure shooters I have ever watched.

I am sorry I will probably eat my words next year, but Texas Tech, Syracuse, Michigan, Tulsa, Oregon State did not deserve to be in. Those teams were all put in because of their conference as opposed to what they did. They did not deserve it.

I agree 100% Monmouth, South Carolina and San Diego state, earned a bid with their regular season play.

What's wrong with having some fun and celebrating?
If my memory serves me correctly, CHA was absolutely rocking for Iowa's NIT game 4 years ago. Lots of fun was had that night and there was lots of celebrating. If that game would have came down to a buzzer beater or something it wouldn't have been a stretch to imagine Iowa fans rushing the court. Nothing wrong with Valpo celebrating their success.

I remember that years NIT fondly, except for the non-championship. Beat \Maryland and Virginia one on their court.

They would never have been close to a 15 or 16 seed in the tournament. Green Bay who is from their conference had a far worse resume and got a 14 seed. Valpo had a tremendous season and solid resume... likely would've been a 12 seed (at worst 13 seed). They were a solid bubble team.

I have no issue with the court storming. This was a HUGE win for the program. They play in Horizon League... a trip to MSG is a big deal.

Just like Iowa probably shouldn't have been in the dance in 2014. Would you be singing the same tune if it were Iowa who squeaked in based on their conference affiliation?

I could certainly argue that a few teams deserved bids over an Iowa team that lost 6 of 7 in 2014.

I was actually shocked that they got in that year. I personally thought they should of been left out, especially after their terrible loss to NW in the BTT. I would not of had a problem with being in the NIT that year, they played well early on and then faded.

I find it funny that the NIT final 4 is all "mid-major" school. They beat out all of the POWER 5 schools.

Varies every year... Stanford won it last year over Miami (FL). Temple was also in the semi-final with Old Dominion.

I certainly see your point in the case of this year but these arguments can be made every year (and will continue every year).
