Rutgers B1G Schedule 12/8 Iowa at Home

RU has 9 B1G matches, 5 home (4 RAC, 1 at YS), and 4 road matches. And it's a tough schedule.

Maryland - Home(Yankee Stadium) - 11/4
Iowa - Home - 12/8
Wisconsin - Road - 1/5
OSU - Home - 1/7
Nebraska - Road - 1/21
PSU - Home - 1/28
Northwestern - Road - 2/2
Illinois - Road - 2/4
Minnesota - Home - 2/9

Got this schedule off ScarletNation.biggMatt

That Iowa match in early December will be a Monumental Event in New Jersey Wrestling. Pretty sure the 8,500 seat Rutgers Athletic Center will be filled. Rutgers has a pretty weak Athletic History and a possible Win over IOWA Wrestling would be gigantic for them. I know I'll take some heat for this but I think Rutgers has a fair shot December 8th to beat the Hawkeyes.

Rutgers has Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State and Minnesota at the RAC and Maryland before RU/Terps football game in Yankee Stadium. The Program is gonna make some $

If you think they can win, post the lineups you are hoping for.

Whats Rutgers lineup for next season?

Iowas will look something like

125: Stickley/Wagner
133: Laux/Glynn
141: Turk/Happel
149: Sorensen
157: Kemerer
165: Marinelli/IMAR
174: Young
184: Wilcke
197: Bowman/Holloway
285: Stoll/Holloway

Since this is a Dec. 8th dual, it will most likely be Holloway at hwt, or whoever is filling in if Holloway is at 197. Added IMAR because I think it is a legit possibility, no idea if it will happen or not, but potentially.

ummm ..OK...149 will be Deluca and u have Laux over a round of 12. I also wouldnt be shocked if 3X AA can throw up bonus at 141

I mean, we can be fairly sure about Sorensen, Kemerer and Marinelli, right? I'd pick bonus on at least two of those.
I'd pick 25 and 33 for Hawks, regardless of your R12. Laux wrestled against the best 33'er in the nation every week, your guy did well for Rutgers.
Ed did give bonus for Ashnault.

174....Young over Pagano? probably not...Bonus? No

Post your lineup and results, you made the thread.

But why not Young over Pagano? 4th place in HS in Pennsylvania? He is what, 42-20? Won his starting spot partway through last year?

Plus, he started as one of those Nit Lions.

Young was ranked in the top 25, won in Penn., and went 21-6 unattached. At best for your guy it is a tossup. I'd choose Young every time.

Just trying to start a little buzz. I think Iowa fans are too optimistic about next years dual. Iowa wont bonus Rutgers anywhere. Again just my opinion.

I'll give it a shot. Rutgers is my 2nd favorite team

Stickley dec Mackall Iowa 3-0
Delvechio dec Laux 3-3
Ashnault tech Turk Rutgers 8-3
Sorensen md DeLuca Rutgers 8-7
Lewis dec Kem Rutgers 11-7
Maranelli dec VanBrill Rutgers 11-10
Pagano dec Young Rutgers 14-10
Gravina dec Wilcke Rutgers 17-10
Downey md Holloway Rutgers 21-10
Gross dec whoever (don't see Stoll ready) Rutgers 24-10 final.

Switch Lewis/Kem Rutgers 21-13. I really like Lewis though

This is also assuming Downey gets his wish

Without Downey Holloway dec over Mulligan and Rutgers still wins 17-16 and that's with Lewis losing and no Downey

Not so far fetched

The optimism is all in ur fingers buddy. Iowa is going to have a down year but will still probably be 5th. Rutgers won't be top 10.

So Iowa is wrestling at Rutgers on Dec. 8, and then at Iowa State on Dec. 9? Doesn't seem likely.

We talking about a dual here.
As far as March. Rutgers will AA at 141,157 and possibly 184. Long shot at 133 and 174. With downey that could be NCAA champ at 197

Iowa has 149, 157 high AAs. Possible 165 and possible HWY if healthy Stoll.

Don't count RU out especially if Downey gets on that squad

But you aren't generating "buzz", you won't even post a lineup. For all we know you can't even name a full lineup of Rutgers wrestlers.

Lewis, the kid from Iowa Central? Come on.

Lewis beating Kemerer is laughable. Lewis couldn't handle Edwin Cooper but now he's awesome and is going to beat Kemerer

You do realize he was hurt last year and has a win over the 157 runner up on his resume. If you don't know or havent seen Lewis, you'll see soon enough. He not beating Nolf but he in that mix with Kem, Lavalle, Jojo,Berger IMO

Agree. I have my doubts. That being said he wants to be there and if Goodale thinks he can rein him it.....

Yes the Lewis who beat the NCAA Runner up this year before injuring.

You are pinning Lewis beating Kem on his win over suprise of the tournament Lavallee?

Kem majored Tsirtsis, beat Berger thrice, and beat Smith twice.

But sure, pin your hopes on a win over Lavallee how long ago?

In fairness, he did handle Cooper - once.

It's a pick not a guarantee. No doubt Kem is the favorite but I see it as a toss up. Being at Rutgers I see a coming out type performance.

Kem is a stud. Don't take my picking Lewis as a knock on Kem.

Edit. Sorry thought you were responding to me, but my rationale stands

I've seen Lewis plenty and he's not beating Kemerer. Kemerer just took 3rd as a freshman, and has a lot more room to grow than Richie. Kemerer got caught but was the second best man in that bracket, and he'll prove it next year

Lewis win over Lavalle was last season professor.

You have provided two "rationales".

(1) his beating this years runner up - the year prior.
(2) his being at Rutgers.

You can obviously pick who you want, I was just pointing out how absurd it is. That certainly doesn't make it impossible. Kem will be a heavy favorite.

He beat him at the NWCA all star classic this year. A preseason event that often has weird results. Lewis is going to be a redshirt senior coming off injury that has never been an AA, but he is freaking nails. I wouldn't be surprised to see him AA, but he isn't beating Kemerer

Exactly, I don't doubt he is "good." He placed second and third at ICCC. Kemerer will be a favorite for the finals, presuming he is on the opposite of Nolf.

You guys need to relax..I was just letting u know the RU schedule and I thought they had a shot, You are living in the past. It's over Johnny...Penn State blew by u and here comes the field.

What I meant by being at Rutgers is that it's a home dual for Rutgers. If the match was at Iowa I'd pick Kem.

If you agree Lewis has AA potential then how can you say it's absurd?

At 157 next year it's Nolf by far and then there's a bunch of really good kids

Kem, Lewis,Lavalle,Berger, Pantaleo, Smith and Id even throw a motivated Clagon into the mix as my AA's. I'm probably missing someone else.

Pretty darn good weight class.
