She is survived by her parents, Patrick and Pam Cavey.

A parent's worst nightmare is burying a child.

Her children are all very young, elementary school age. Very sad.

She died at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, so she obviously was very sick. Way too young.

Very sad. I knew that last year Tiffany Reedy was intended to be a one-season replacement. I noticed that Jamie hadn't returned for this season but hadn't heard anything else.

That really sucks, I didn't know her personally but I enjoyed listening to her on the radio broadcasts. She seemed like a great person. I hate this news for family.

She comes from a great family in Mechanicsville, and a state championship North Cedar team. Her sister is my age and played in the Final Four with Missouri State.

Jamie was a sweet girl. Very kind, and caring. She baby sat our kids in the 90's many times.

So sad. Watched her play, battling against Minnesota's Janel "the Whale" McCarville. And saw her in the Game Time League for a season as a player-coach.

Really sorry to hear the news. I saw someone near the scorers table just recently and I wondered if that was Jamie back where she belonged and unfortunately it was someone else.
