Not a sad song per se, but a great song about sad songs and why we like them

For those that may have watched Designated Survivor, this Yaz cover was played during a devastatingly painful scene:

This song has the saddest lyrics of any song I've ever heard. It's a song about a mother that lost her son in a war and that he's "more than a name on a wall".

That was the last Oberst I bought before 2020. I previewed the 2015 and 2016 albums and didn't like them until going back this past year again when I was waiting for the new Bright Eyes. Which, speaking of, since it's the sad song thread:
It's good. It's honestly all good. The guy does a ton of music. Between solo, Bright Eyes, Desparicidos and 3 or 4 other bands.
Yeah lot of experimental stuff. Better Oblivion Community Center with him and Phoebe Bridgers had a pretty good album that came out in 2019 or maybe 2018. When he was doing virtual press tours for the Bright Eyes album in 2020, in one of them he said they had signed to do one more BE album and that he and Phoebe were trying to do something like a Pixies album for their next album which they tried to do before. I'm such and embarrassed fanboy stan or whatever that thing I gave permission to look through my Spotify said I was
