Match of the decade? For me I'm much more excited about Spencer's match in December. Or pretty much hundreds of other matches over the last decade.I think if Taylor is in form this is going to be a great match. Taylor is no slouch when he's in form. Sadulaev hasn't faced anyone like him in recent years. Snyder is not the tactician Taylor is.
The tilt would have to be Sadulaev but Taylor throws a whole different style into the mix. Taylor's length combined with his skills are a different animal. Throw in the folkstyle that Taylor brings, crazy match.
Brooks was a heartbeat away from the finals at the Olympics.
He would have beaten Yaz in the finals given Yazs physical condition.
Taylor was totally out of shape vs Brooks.
Sadulaev has never faced Yaz.
This is a total unknown if it goes down.
Match of the decade.
Today.

wasn't really mad, i like v. above all else he is serious wrestling fan,but he opened a big doorSadly you opened that door…
Did the kids end up being any good at wrestling?this only matters as a WOW factor to coincide with the age remarks But we had a 3 time state champion here in PA ( Not Spencer) in the 1980s that had 3 kids by the time he was a senior in HS and looked to be about 25 with his build and maturity. He is a great guy and went on to have a couple more kids after HS but it was certainly a talking point at states when he was on the mat and 2 of his 3 kids were standing along the edge of the wrestling area and Mom was holding the 3rd in her arms as they cheered Dad on
True that…a huge door that sadly can’t be unopened.wasn't really mad, i like v. above all else he is serious wrestling fan,but he opened a big door
Start a poll and see if posters are more excited about Spencers showdown in December or the Taylor match of the century. Taylor wrestling anyone does nothing for me. To each their own, but it's funny calling it the match of the decade or century.it's the match of the century.
2 Olympic Champs, who, while not in their prime - are still in the P4P rankings. And it's a weight that's best for both of them.

Taylor.I had to think about it a bit - but Snyder v Sadulaev #1 is truly the match of the century. 2 multi world/olympic champs in their prime.
I get that this board may not be that excited in a DT match, but based on the criteria of what makes a match "match of the century" - it hits all the marks.
Multiple World/Olympic titles. P4P greats. USA vs Russia. What's not to love?

Last I heard Spencer is wrestling a good opponent at 57kg with 2 KG weight allowance. I don't know the name of the event. It probably/possibly hasn't been announced yet. He just got back in town so maybe things are being finalized. Not following, what's happening in December?

I would love to see him wrestle Vito again, don’t know if Vito could make it tho.Last I heard Spencer is wrestling a good opponent at 57kg with 2 KG weight allowance. I haven't heard of anything exceptional as far as wrestling about the kids. I will have to do some digging into that question. I know Dad finished 1st, 1st, 2nd and 1st again. he finished his HS career at 113 wins and 5 losses. all at the 155lb weight class. I honestly don't think he even wrestled in college. Great guy and tough as nails but I don't think he was interested in the college path back then.Did the kids end up being any good at wrestling?
I saw him take bottom in a match... start an inside leg stand up only to stop mid move, pivot his hips and reach back and then headlocked the guy and tossed him over his hips and then pinned him. He was such a tough competitor and everyone knew what he was going to do and he still did it .Terry Williams was a headlock specialist
Kind of like Spencer Lee...they always knew what was coming and he did it regardless.I saw him take bottom in a match... start an inside leg stand up only to stop mid move, pivot his hips and reach back and then headlocked the guy and tossed him over his hips and then pinned him. Combination of both I think. Clearly was still struggling with the back injury and didn't feel the cut was worth it under those circumstances so he chose to get healthy for worlds.Isn't the weight cut what kept him from the OTT's?
Or was it also injury related, I don't think it was and I'm always right but I could be wrong.
What match does Spencer have in December?Match of the decade? For me I'm much more excited about Spencer's match in December. Or pretty much hundreds of other matches over the last decade.
YepSadulaev wins 10 out of 10 matches
So is he 28? 31? 42? He is Gold. That's what i know!😀Sadulaev didn't look that impressive in his wrestle-off against Bagaev either. I think he's definitely on the downslope of his career at this point. Time comes for us all.
He still is on pace to be the GOAT. He is 28 (I know, allegedly older but whatever) and has 2 Olympic golds, 6 world golds, 1 world silver. He lost back in 2013, lost to Snyder at worlds in 2017 and lost to Taz last year in a match where he looked hurt. Those are his only losses. Pretty insane run for him. It's not a knock on Taylor, either. It seems many forget how great Sadulaev is. Minus a couple of major injuries and Russian politics, the dude was on pace to possibly become the best Freestyle wrestler of all time...
Yup. The current GOAT is Saitiev, with an unbelievable 6 World Chips and 3 Olympic golds. He still is on pace to be the GOAT. I thought I read somewhere that 27-28 in prime age for a wrestler, but goes down hill fast after that. Depending on how injury prone you’ve been of coarse. Spencer will be 28-29 next Olympics , will definitely be his last, won’t be like Jordan.28 or 30 past prime for almost everyone who wrestles. Takes it toll
I think nowadays its more like 22-26, of course there are exceptions then there extremes like JBI thought I read somewhere that 27-28 in prime age for a wrestler, but goes down hill fast after that.
