Just saw there is a headline that Sails has decommitted. Any details from anyone?

I just saw what Blair posted which was a tweet from Sails.
Said Iowa has been great during process and is still one of his top schools but is re opening his recruitment and has not further comments at this time

I hope he recommits to Iowa, but something tells me this year that if he doesn't, we will be able to use the extra scholarship on someone else we really want.

Lol, bau..............

And how many will blame the coaches for this? Not to pile on, but it's an honest question when you're talking about these kids constantly flip-flopping and then hearing our fans complain about the coaching staff recruiting.

Fact is, fans should stop taking recruiting as seriously as they do. I understand top tier recruits generally leads to better results, etc etc but since Iowa typically doesn't get them regardless of how much success they have, and they managed to be 10-0 with a chance to go undefeated, play in the BTCG, and possibly compete for a national title with run of the mill, middle of the pack recruiting classes.....as far as the fans are concerned, it should. not. matter.

What the coaches do with the players they recruit, does....

Just sayin.

Well if that doesn't show you that Iowa will never get elite talent, I don't know what will. A 3 star kid just decommitted in the middle of a 10 and 0, top 5 in the nation season.
With the year Iowa is having you would think this would be the year we didn't lose any recruits. I guess I understand a Florida kid who suddenly gets an FSU offer but for the life of me I can't understand why top OL recruits aren't beating the doors down to get a scholly in Iowa City. No one does a better job at getting offensive linemen ready to play in the NFL.

Well, to be fair, I think Alabama and Wisconsin do a damn good job. But Iowa is in the top level for O-line development according to many experts, and I agree, I don't understand why we don't get more 4 stars in that particular position group.

Hopefully Brian will help in that area the next couple years.

Well in all fairness we did have 4 star OL legacy recruits knocking at the door and we chose not to offer.. Hard to second guess this staff at this point

RELAX dude. FL is a long way from Iowa. And FSU is a hell of an alternative.

Did he visit South Carolina without telling coaches? In that case, coaches might have told him to look elsewhere.

His loss. Ya don't wanna be a Hawkeye, fine. Somebody else does. I'll be happy with that guy.

And if a Florida kid wants to play for FSU, then good for him. Win-win.

I would not wait around hoping he decides to come back only to get left with slim pickings late. Go out and find a new guy.

I bet that Shaun Beyer gets a grey shirt. Somebody won't make it to campus and Beyer picks up their scholarship.

We should be able to leverage our top-5 ranking and steal a commitment from one of the midwest schools if nothing else.

J. Eastling-cb from Georgia-coming back for another unnoficial visit this weekend. Recently offered by Illinois and Indiana. He had previously visited Iowa a few weeks ago

Beyer deserves a Full Scholly now, he will be a great Hawkeye!

I say let him go...cut ties with him fast and move on. He is just a kid so its hard to blame him from changing his mind, but it doesn't sound like he is Hawkeye material.

So true however disappointing it is.

Who the hell cares?

Iowa is on the cusp of the Playoffs and most of the starting lineup on both sides of the ball had as many P5 offers coming out of high school as I did.

We'll find a couple of walk-ons from Bumfuq, Iowa and win the West again next year. BAU

When I type this same sentiment I get nothing but hate. Iowa is in the driver's seat right now. There is no one we can't replace.

We are not replacing a corner/safety with a TE. How stupid are some of you people?

There's an article on the front page that clearly states we're taking a second look at a DB from Georgia now.
and are trying to convince a current GT verbal to visit this weekend. Johnson has a "no visit while verballed" policy. If this kid takes an official this weekend, Iowa would have to feel pretty good about their chances. Kinda like the Miles Taylor recruitment..
