A few Important points it seems some may be missing -
Chechen Head Ramzan Kadyrov wrote that Saitiev had long-standing heart problems and had been receiving treatment for a long time. Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev also confirmed that Saitiev was ‘very ill’ and frequently visited medical centres.

Later, some Telegram channels added that the cause of death may have been cardiac arrest as a result of intoxication. According to them, the athlete had a lung disease and was taking medication containing potent substances.

However, on Monday evening, Saitiev’s widow, Indira Saitieva, said her husband’s death was caused by an accident. According to her, he was at home with his brother and children when he fell out of a second-storey window, sustaining injuries to his pelvis and ribs.

I'd be more interested if he had any history with doping/peds given their prevalencein Russian athletics? 49 is very young for a world class athlete to have heart problems without contributing factors.

He was so good. I think he was physically stronger than people think, just looked so thin vs Slay. He threw Kenny Monday around some.
I also really wish that Ben Askren would of wrestled Satiev in 2008. Ben thinks he could of "out scrambled" him. Lmao, Askren would of got smoked.

My favorite saitiev moment. He gave up the first takedown of the match and the crowd was excited by it. Well, he took that personally and proceeded to then beat the absolute crap out of his opponent. Back then you had the option of declining a technical fall victory, and saitiev did just that, ultimately winning the match 32 to 2. His opponent was crawling by the end of the match.

Dude just go look and see how many high ranking officials and military personal has fallen out of windows since that was started. The number is so insane it’s almost comical lol.

Pretty soon tho the way things are going this is the only country that will be friends with us. So I guess we need to accept this strange custom of theirs.
