Brooks has Israel first round. Would face Iran next. Iranian is 2014 Jr World Champ and 2015 Sr bronze. Asian Championships, Military Worlds and Takhti Cup Champ.

Sam was thrown and pinned in the first round...Fix and McKee lost their first matches as well. I blame it on the Polish women.
Def had to be the polish women but crap not a great showing.
Only place worse for this to be held would be Brazil.
Tough day for team USA. Brooks, McKee, Fix, and Kroells all lose in round 1. So much for the people that were saying Fix was already better than Gilman. (I'm looking at you TheMat.forums.)
Brooks has always been kinda susceptible to getting tossed because he wrestles so wide open.... doesn’t happen often though... he’ll learn
So it's Israel v. Iran - does Iran forfeit per usual dick procedure? Don't the athletes get tired of this?
Brooks lost all of his powers when he trimmed his mullet. Jeremiah Moody has a bitchin mullet.

Shouldnt he have beaten the Russian, then forfeited to the Israeli, then tried to wrestle back for a medal?
Giving up against the Russian gave him no shot at a medal because either Russia didnt make it to the finals or he did and the Iranian would have had to forfeit against the Israeli in the repechage.

The Iranian wrestler was cruising through the match, looking like a sure bet to defeat his Russian opponent. But suddenly, as if suffering an injury, he fell to the mat and was thrown around the ring like a rag doll by the surprised Russian.
The score was 3 - 2 Iran when he packed it in but he had worked to come back from a 0 - 2 deficit fairly late in the match. I don't consider that "Cruising through the match."

I dont agree or really even understand the dispute with Israel nor do I really care, but thats not what I'm concerned with because I dont really get into politics too much.
I just wonder why he didnt try to beat the Russian, forfeit to Israel, then hope Israel wins in the semis to pull him back in. They had a whole day to plan for this scenario that basically had a 50/50 chance of happening.
The Iranians were clearly unprepared for Brooks losing. Looks like the coaches got a text mid-match from an ayatollah delivering the game plan. Throwing the cube for no reason was brilliant.
Good point - that cube dribbled out there like Cael threw it. Very weak - the ref just squashed the cube into his pocket and ignored the idiots.
