Only match I watched was Jon Jay Chavez at 74k. Kid he wrestled looked like a basketball player being a full foot taller. Stretch rag dolled Chavez with a couple 4 pt throws for a 45 second tech.
I like that Big Sam is weighing down. Great sign. We need him big time if this team wants to accomplish a goal of a title because with the new faces we know we have a AA type with Meyer but we need someone else to emerge as a Sorenson type season.
Between Carton, Paddock or Stoll. Has to be Sam. He has the talent to make that splash and be that guy at HWT and pile up a few pins along the way.

Is Chavez at Boise St now? If so how has he fared?
I know we brought him in for a big recruiting visit with Stoll and others. That much I remember from that football game.
Chavez wrestled for Finger Lakes WC at opens last season. That is the gray shirt layover for Cornell.

Why do we stink so bad at Greco? It's pretty embarrassing. Chavez is a stud and he just got demolished in the first round by some Swedish dude. Dalton Roberts got destroyed in the quarters by Borat by tech fall.
When you look at it analytically, we really don't stink at Greco. We are probably doing fairly well when you look at the amount of Greco participation we have in this country. We do better in Free because the transition from Folk is better.
Greco has the most participants of any style of wrestling worldwide. US participation in this style is limited, the pool is smaller and the results follow.
It seems as if they are trying to use our wrestling pool to identify top athletes and pull them to train Greco at an earlier age recently. This is probably a good strategy and hopefully will pay off in the coming years.

Sam seems to be a real pinner. Even if he isn't an AA this year, if he can make it to the tourney (which I would expect), maybe he could get a few falls and really put up some points for us.

Stoll is wrestling a German named Jello Kramer in the quarters. Interesting name for a 120.
Even more interesting because I thought that was how some of the posters here described Stoll before he took it in stride on twitter. Jolly fellow.
Stoll got tech'd 8-0 in the semis and will wrestle for bronze. From Twitter:
