Sandfort

He'll have better games. I'm confident of that. He had a nice drive to the basket, made 2-2 free throws. Got out of position defensively a few times, though.
I'm sure he will. The funny thing is the one chink in Keegan's armor last year was getting into frequent foul trouble. Part of it was his defensive aggressiveness but the guy couldn't catch a break from the officials either.

Lot of love for Sandfort, but this thread seems to be moving him ahead of Kris, who is also supposed to be a good outside shooter, and probably a better defender. Keegan and Patrick need to get a lot of minutes at 3/4. Connor, Kris, and Payton will likely get the rest of the 3/4 minutes. I thought JBo and Perkins would split most of the minutes at 2, but maybe Payton also gets some, if he has enough quickness. A bunch of really promising wings is a good problem for Fran! Center is my biggest concern. Big O or Mulvey need to be able to give us some quality minutes. Rebracca will have a hard time guarding some of the B1G monsters, but he seems like a very solid and badly needed pick up.
Not probably.

Think Kris will be good and playing almost all of the minutes Patrick and Keegan don't play.

Peyton can drain it and there's always a time for a knock down shooter in the course of a season.

Not quick enough to be Korver.

More Robbie Hummel.

More advanced offensively than I thought he would be and tons of confidence. The pump fakes to get his shot off are nice and will always work for a 6'7 knock down shooter.

Defensely not terrible but not great.

Early but I like that he can finish with his left hand and he has more to his game then just spot up shooter because he can make layups. He can replace a lot of what JoeW/Fredrick gave
us on offense last year.

JoeT/Ulis both look to be huge defensive upgrades over Jbo at PG, but they don't bring a lot of scoring.
With the need for 3pt shooting, I think Sandfort and Kris Murray need a big role--maybe Sandfort can
play some 2G to backup Jbo. Kris probably should be rotating with Pmac/Keegan/Rebacca to keep 3 guys
aroudn 6'8 -6'9 on court at same time.

Was pretty sure Peyton was going to play a fair amount as we need shooters. He's got a bigger body than I thought and a really nice looking shot. He shot a couple pretty quick but that should be just a learning thing. Like the look of him a lot.

I like him. Nice looking shot and he plays with confidence as a freshman. Not bad on defense either for being so young and inexperienced. I know we aren't in Big Ten play yet, but he doesn't look out of position often. He has a good feel where to be and what to do with his body and arms. We need a guy like him on this team. Good recruit

I really like the fact he's not afraid to shoot it too. And he's darn good at it as well it appears. Always hated the 2nd team guys that passed it around until someone has to throw up a prayer with no time left on the shot clock. Sandfort says F that, I got this! Boom!

He's had some nice passes into the paint, couple of nice floaters in these games too. Let's not forget that he shot mid 90's from the free throw line too. More late game money doesn't hurt.

Kid is gonna be a damn good Hawkeye folks. His defense might be suspect for awhile and maybe always, but he passes the eye test big time, regardless of the current competition. He's gonna be a factor for the next 4 years. Book it.

Mohawk may not have forgotten JBo, but he did forget Fredrick.

Hate that he left, but for my money CJ was the best 3baller to ever play for the Hawks.

47% is insane considering we know a good chunk of those 3's were taken off bum wheels. Clutch shots too.

Sandfort will go down as a darn good Hawk though. High and quick release with a lot of touch. Really sees the floor too

Bohannon was the 4th best shooter on last years team.

Stockton was 6'1" but had freakishly long arms, one source placing his wingspan at 7'6". Enormous hands for a little guy.

Magic has said on several occasions that Stockton was the best "pure" point guard ever and also said Stockton was the play most deserving of breaking Magic's assist record.

I'd take JBo every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Both dealt with injuries but Jordan seemed to be tougher, dependable and loyal

Also CJF wasn't a volume shooter....he seemed to pass up shots that were there.

You couldn't count on Fredrick for a full season and he disappeared in a lot of games because he either'couldn't get his shot off or he was afraid to shoot. Look at his last game vs Oregon...he was useless.

I would agree with a post about Sandfort's athleticism being similar to Gatens, but Sandfort has a good left hand dribble/finish and that is something Gatens never had and neither did Weiskamp.

Much bigger body than Gatens or Joe. Looks great to me. Would love to see him move his feet more on defense. Knew he would not redshirt, need his shooting on this team

Fredrick quit shooting at the end of the season because he was playing hurt. His legs were gone. When he did shoot it was flat

CJ shot such a high per cent because he rarely shot in a hurry. He always had to be wide open and then he would shoot. And with Garza and JBO part of the time, the defense left him open quite a bit.

Yes, the opponents haven't been great, but Standfort doesn't play like a freshman. Playing with supreme confidence and can FILL IT UP.
