Saturday practices open to public

Be sure to bring a notebook and take video with your phone. The coaching staff loves to see the fans participating in practice as well!

This right here. If you do, make sure you post the practice on twitter so we all get to see it. Also feel free to use the locker room and ride the bikes if you need a workout while you watch. Coach is real good about stuff like that.

Plan on attending the Oct. 7th Homecoming game that starts at 11:00 a.m. with a group. With official practices starting the following week, any chance for early morning "unofficial" wrestling action before the the Illinois game?

Good Stuff :)

For the people that havent followed this for a long time--

The public is WELCOME to any practice-- Its a great way to see how hard our wrestlers and coaches work, you often get to see live goes --plus lots of history in the room!

Once official practices start Oct 14th--practice is typically at 3:30 on weekdays-- you can always confirm with the Iowa Wrestling office.

One rule is no pictures or videos in the wrestling room--This isn't just a TnT rules--there are NCAA rules on what happens with pictures etc.

Often we see people joke about giving the staff "coaching" tips-- happens all the time, I think its hilarious-- but Im not sure the staff thinks its as funny as I do.

Do yourself a favor and attend some practices!

Watched a bit this morning. Meyer and PD3 drilling. Downey working hard and getting a bit frustrated at times working positions. You're all going to be surprised to see what he does in live go's. Man is a doer and won't give up position.
Don't think that would surprise anyone who has watched him wrestle before. Say what you will about the man, but he is a tough SOB.

A team motto: "Why throw chairs when you can throw Terry?"
Love the motto, but I have to say Cal had the most pitiful chair throw I've seen. He needs to go to the Bobby Knight school for chair throwing (sorry I had to use a BB reference).

Or to the WWE.

Any updates on practice would be appreciated. I have a lot curiosity coming into this season.

Who looks to making the cut to 125?

Who is the front runner at 141? Turk or Happel?

I know Lugo plans to redshirt but how does he look? Who is he practicing with?

Has Kaleb Young put on enough mass to be a contender at 174?

With the addition of PDIII does this mean Wilcke is at 197 again his year? Has he put any size on?

Was PDIII in the room yesterday?

I have lots of other questions but this is a starting point. I am really excited about this upcoming season!

A real wrestling guru would know these things.

once oil boomed again, I got me a real bank, not one of those piggys. Of course, it just got blown off the map by Irma  so until power is restored, back to nickels and dimes from piggy!
It is nice that your wife helps out when times are tough, but there is no need to refer to her in such derogatory terms. Just saying' :) Any relation to Tognetti??

Sorry to get off topic, but next weekend with a 2:30 game, what time would workouts be? Gonna see if I can get the fan going early enough to watch a bit.

Was at practice yesterday...it was pretty laid back. McD was rolling with Laux I think the whole time we were there. Seemed it was like an "Open Mat" atmosphere....guys doing their own thing.
