Sources have said UCF has contacted Scott Frost and gauged interest from the Lincoln Riley camp as possible replacements for Gus Malzahn.

Imagine Frost getting UCF into the playoffs before Rhule gets Nebraska there. The Big 12 is a cluster right now. ASU and ISU are playing for a spot this Saturday. Meanwhile the B1G has Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Indiana and Michigan operating at a higher level right now. Heck Illinois and Iowa are good for at least 8 wins. Much tougher sledding.

Edit: It's a done deal! The "2017 National Championship" coach is back baby!!!" They can have that parade and Frost can say "I'm going to Disney World".

If Lincoln Riley has been mentioned, there is zero chance UCF is giving Frost another shot. The first thing they should do is rename the damn school to get rid of the directional component.

I know this is hard to believe but UCF is primarily an academic institution. It is part of the State University System of Florida with a student population about 2X the size of Univ. of Iowa’s enrollment. I doubt renaming the school is high on the list.

With an over abundance of local and regional athletic talent UCF is really a rising giant which is ripe for the right AD and HCs to successfully exploit.

It truly isnt, they are and will always be 4th in state school pecking order, they do have in state talent, but I would be more concerned about south Florida in Tampa. Look at recruit location, it’s either south Florida or Tampa area.

Big 12 is fine. Bunch of teams all financially similar which means their only roadblock to the playoff is finding a coach that can build a roster.

Big 10 is 4-5 teams with money to burn and the rest told to “shut up and enjoy the money. You can build a nice women’s crew team but leave the football to the big boys”.

I added a Like to this but Iowa, Indiana, etc can compete for the top once in awhile. It was Indiana this year and we will see if they can stay up there. Remember Indiana had a really good season just a few years ago and then Iowa crushed them to start the next year and IU was terrible after that and Penix fled to Wash.

The other big factor is top stars leaving early to the nfl. OSU, ORegon, Penn ST and even USC can survive one or two players leaving early to the nfl but guys like Van Ness and Dejean if they left in the same year, and Campbell who left with Van Ness, can really dent the power of a team like Iowa.

This would explain why so many Big two conference schools are begging for admission into the Big XII.

Indiana can’t get out fast enough!!!!!!

some “small” conference fans will be very happy on Monday when their team is on playoffs.

True, their sports teams may not dine on marble tables at the athletic complex but they will be in the tournament.

Just stop.

I just noticed my typo😂. Freaking directional schools. Everybody knows UCF is in Orlando, Orlando is home to Disney World. Let's just call it Mickey Mouse University.
Or even better, Universal University.

Wonder what the Florida schools are doing with all that talent?

What do you think they should call it? There are already Florida universities called A&M, International, and Polytechnic. Do they just go ahead and call it Mickey Mouse U? That's one way to ensure ESPN puts all your games on TV.
And good for Scott Frost. He gets to go back to the last place he was relevant as a head coach. Not everyone gets that luxury.

I heard Nebbie is paying his salary, relocation and a free leased vehicle.

I love it. Mouse U is perfect! Even better for them they can get a Disney tie in. Some dollars and promos thrown their way.
And then their grads could literally be said to have a "Mickey Mouse" degree.
