Season Prediction Thread

Well boyz it’s that time again. Football is limping to the finish line and hopefully basketball can provide some good entertainment this winter.

Where do our guys end up this season? For me, I think we have plenty of potential and we should be better on D, but youth and a lack of serious bulk is going to hold us back in yet another brutal B1G. Our noncon is probably going to be fool’s gold record-wise.

Think we end up on the Bubble but the wrong side of it. Probably 9-11 in conference.

Gut says you're correct; just on the wrong side of the bubble. But I'd like to see a little more competition first. Particularly against a team with a pulse.

Friday night got me really excited because I loved us extending our man defense. It’ll be really interesting to watch that defensive style develop over the next few months. First time in a while I’ve actually been excited about watching us defend.

I’ll have us as a 7-9 seed. There are limitations offensively, but Fran has put together competent offenses that didn’t rely on shooting before. It’s been 8 seasons in a row with a top 50 offense. I trust that Iowa will find their rudder on offense eventually. I just really want to see the defense’s upside.

The only thing that scares me is the super weak OOC schedule. That leaves very little room for error in conference play.

Now in my legitimate personal opinion, I think we’re a 9-10 seed type team.

I voted....mostly to see the results. This team is one of those that we know WAY less about than what we usually know about a team at this point. The exhibition was fun to watch and gave us a couple of general observations...but really nothing to even make a half way informed guess at win totals.......

I can't wait for the next games to start to develop an informed opinion....and probably still won't have any real idea until they play Virginia, ISU, and Utah State....even though this isn't a team like last years, watching them develop continuity, confidence, find their individual niche, see what they can do defensively, etc......is a ton of fun in my opinion.
