Selection Sunday celebratory crowd

Have you ever seen CBS or ESPN show a school on the bubble that has convened a selection Sunday watch event with fans only to NOT be selected.

We always see the team and the fans cheer when they are selected but can't say that I've seen any bubble teams in despair when they are not.

Which leads me to believe that when schools assemble these huge selction Sunday watch events, they already know they will be selected and it's all for tv.

Yes, we did see that at least once, though I do not recall the details. Brutal.

I haven't watched the show live in a few years, but I definitely remember. It was actually a pretty regular thing. They have a crew ready at sites for several teams. You'll see those awkward shots of the room sitting and waiting for everyone. As the teams are announced, they show the teams that make it. The teams that miss out don't get put back on TV, which is probably why it's easy to forget.

Yes, they've done that before. They show the fans and players waiting beforehand, but not after for obvious reasons...
