Don and Steve Batterson have been longtime stalwarts on Hawkeye coverage in the Quads and eastern Iowa. I haven't always agreed with Don's takes (he famously knocked KF for his "amateurish" assistant coach hires early in his tenure, which included Norm Parker, lol) but the man has always worked hard and has been thought-provoking. 38 years at one paper is an insane run that will never again be duplicated, and 50 years in the biz overall is wild.
