Are any HROT Republicans willing to say, with a straight face, that 8 days is a reasonable amount of time to vet, hold hearings, address concerns, and confirm a lifetime appointment?

Plenty of time to rush through a Justice for a lifetime appointment to the top court in the land.

No time to address voting rights, foreign interference, pandemic control, small business shut downs, looming eviction crisis, health care ...

Added to your list

Oh, and none of those things can be used to keep an incumbent POTUS in office after they lose an election.

Seriously, 8 days. How is this even being considered? It is an impossible amount of time without doing some ridiculous amount of corner cutting.

...and I think they are seeing that polling isn't going their way on this.

Ergo, might blow up the Blue Wave they are concerned about. If the Dems go nuclear on passing anti-gerrymandering, then it's literally all over for the GOP as we know it. They will be a significant minority until they alter their platforms on issues rank and file voters care about.

Even if you are in the elections have consequences camp and that it is Mitch's right. 8 days. He either has to ram the pick through with virtually no vetting or change the rules, once again, to force more days into the session than scheduled.

Either way is incredible shady.

But the Senate can’t be troubled to debate and vote on COVID relief funding.

Priorities. It’s all about them priorities.

Yea, because the Senate is the only ones holding up the relief legislation.

More fear mongering.

Apparently the OP doesn’t realize scheduled recesses can be cancelled or postponed.....and have been in the past.

So Mitch has to change the rules again to get his pick rammed through? And where was his willingness to reschedule for pandemic relief?

The optics of this are horrible.

Heaven forbid they actually work and do their job. I’m talking those on both sides.

Confirming in 8 days is not doing his job.

In 2016, Mitch blew off 130 working days to not do his job.

And in 2020, he is going to the other extreme.

It is a big FU on the whole process.

They tried Trump’s impeachment trial in zero days. This is a slam dunk.

Please list how the Constitution is being changed to “ram through” a SC pick.
