What the hell was that!?

1. The foul call on Johnson was weak as hell
2. On the free throw Keegan Murray gets a hook and hold just tossed to the ground no call
3. Harper gets the board and then LITERALLY doesn’t get touched yet they call a foul on his dunk?

probably worthy of its own thread but that was 3 bizarre things in a very short time.

I really really really wish I had taken a photo of Sparkles in those jeans. When he refs it’s all I see. He’s such a sparkly little man.

Only one of those I noticed was the foul on the dunk by Harper. No one even tried to touch him. There were a couple fouls both ways where it didn’t look like anyone was touched.

Then there were couple of clear hacks that went uncalled. Nunge got away with an obvious one in the first half. Keegan got lit up on one attempt and Garza had at least two of them on shot attempts.

I get basketball is a tough job to officiate 100% correctly, but some of these calls (and no calls) just leave you shaking your head.

Iowa went to line 23 times and Rutgers 12. That was the ball game. Sure there are some missed/bad calls, but I can't complain about the whistle when I see that.

Rutgers shouldn't complain because Myles Johnson probably deserved a couple more fouls and if he was out, they wouldn't compete. Iowa plays zone and gives up jump shots and doesn't foul a lot and Rutgers plays in your face man and they got called for more fouls.

I thought the game was fairly evenly called but the disparity in which fouls were called between the first half and second half was maddening. In the first half it was “let the boys play” and in the second half every touch was a foul - this definitely favored Iowa

Overcame a ton including Weezy being bad.

Witvoet disciples are every where! Poor Iowa just doesn't ever have a chance!
Football, basketball, tiddly-winks....I don't care.....It's a damn conspiracy!
Huh!? Keep your shit on the OT board. They won the game this was just one sequence that was brutal.. I get it’s a tough job! This was just a horrific 7 seconds for officiating.

Exactly, beat a top 20 team on the road, and we did not play well. Most turnovers all year, fewest assists, Joe W bad game, Connor goes down, team that won 24 of their last 25 at home and we still make it through. This was a steal, that makes up for the Minny game.

OSU, Wisconsin, MSU, Minnesota and NW are the next teams they have at home, and given their recent history its certainly possible they win them all.

The officiating was lousy across the board. It was one of those games where normally the last team with the ball wins. Iowa was lucky that only 3 seconds remained.

It goes both ways though. Early first half, Myles goes up for a layup and gets hacked on the arm (clearly shown on replay) - no call.

And on the last offensive set with 16 seconds left, JBo CLEARLY hacked Geo on the arm, causing Geo to lose the ball - no call. (There’s a clip out there, but I’m not savvy enough to figure out how to link it, LOL)

I’m not coming to your board to “complain,” just pointing out how these things usually even out. And these were two non-questionable clear fouls, not 50-50 calls that could’ve gone either way.

Btw, I agree that it’s ridiculous toward both teams that they barely called any fouls in the first half and then started calling everything in the second half. A little consistency would be appreciated.

Speaking of 7 seconds, what about the time Garza was double teamed for 7 seconds and then found CJ(?) for a floater in the lane? That was cool that they chose not to call 5 seconds on him.

Ohhhh that’s cute.. just looked and he had it for 5.1 seconds what what.. 16 mins left in the game!? Way different than the 3 consecutive shit calls were discussing

Rutgers basketball fans are some of the whiniest I have seen, at least the message board group of fans are.

Leading up to the game, they are begging for the refs to call a loose game.

Now, complaining relentlessly over no calls that they thought should have been made.
