Seriously, how bad can officiating be for the women’s game?

Name a sport, high school, college or pro, where fans think the officiating is great.

The supply is low; too few want to do it. Instead, we all sit on the sidelines and bitch about it. Me, included.

LOL

I’ve done it and while I readily and fully admit I wasn’t near perfect, how bad the folks doing the women’s games are is atrocious.
I have seen some well done games and there certainly will be mistakes and I get that but some of the mistakes made in college are just comical.

Until one (or more) of those mistakes decides who wins the game, and you're team is on the wrong side of the mistake(s).

not sure what the solution is because the job is only attracting the "talent" that we currently are seeing

maybe they need to increase the pay & benefits where you attract more people and then you gradually get rid of the worst of the worst

Well, they need to make it a full time job and have a single organization run the officiating. Or at least have different companies hire refs and then have them bid out contracts to officiate games for different leagues or something. That would be far more expensive than the current model though, which is why it will never happen. It's cheaper just to hire a bunch of part timers who can squeeze a college game in between their 4 high school games they are doing that week. Who cares if they aren't equipped to handle the speed of the college game?

90 million tv contract. I think they could pay more, but they won’t because people will watch the games regardless. If they cared they would have attempted to fix the problems long ago.
