Seth Gross

I couldnt disagree more. Sounds like a kid thats just trying to move forward more than anything. Cant blame a guy for that.

Alright, easy killer, it is my opinion. From his interview he wouldn't want to come back to Iowa anyway as it was too much about wrestling. For the record I am not blaming the guy for trying to move forward. I just am simply stating own your actions, no excuses. Moving on I am done with it.

The fact that you took my comment as being violent by saying "easy killer" says a lot about what your agenda is here.

The dude is still young. I bet close to half the people reading this had done worse things in there lives than Gross did at his age. It doesnt make it right, but it also doesnt make it final.

You need to stop taking everything so literal. That is what the easy killer is about, I can have a difference in opinion and it's just fine. I highly doubt that half the people on this board have fought the police. Correct me if I am wrong but that was one of the charges. Maybe he was not convicted, but almost nobody is especially a first time offender.

All in all, no worries. We just have a difference of opinion on this matter, that is all.

I was a bit irritated that the TV talk as the Gross-Clark began was all about Gross. Maybe I missed some of it but it seemed that way.

Hey I never broke into anyone's house and stole stuff, I'd venture to guess most on here haven't either.

I'm happy he's doing well but he never took responsibility and wanted to blame it on others. That attitude made it no surprise when Clark rode him quite easily to win.

Seth Gross points in the tourney were 43-4 getting to the finals. He majored Montoya (who was the only guy to beat him in the season) and he majored Brock. In his interview after semis, he clearly said "I made the mistakes, not them" etc etc. Cory Clark rode Seth Gross out because Cory is the man...not because there was some sort of inner weakness in Seth that made him a quitter. Some don't come back from that type of thing. He did.

Azchief, I agree with everything you said. I actually sat in on the interview and couldnt remember it verbatim off the top of my head, but I was recalling him taking blame and not making any excuses. I rewatched it just now and it confirmed what I remembered.

Note: yea saying half the people hear probably did worse was probably a little high, but I'd be willing to bet almost everyone here hangs out with or respects someone who has done things on a similar illegal level as Gross.

Can anyone help me o ut on this?
Had a discussion with a friend what year did this happen with the drinking
stealing ?
Gross is a red shirt soph right.

The whole situation to me seems that Ross Lembeck was the bad one. If you look at it that a few vouched that if you knew the whole story Ryan was just guilty by association and thus why Brands was willing to let him come back on the team. So has to be Seth and Ross brainchild that night and IMO I just don't think Seth ever had that in him until he got drunk. Plus they were up in Ross's old stomping grounds.

Somebody set me straight but I still want to puke when I hear Ross Lembeck. Cost us a 141 AA this season. True Seth isn't innocent but Seth also isn't randomly going to parties in Linn Mar Marion neighborhood. Guessing that wasn't the first time Lembeck had lifted from parked cars.

We are talking about two different interviews. I am talking about what was played prior to the NCAA finals match. I couldn't find it, but I didn't look hard either. Not a big deal and maybe a slip of words. I just didn't like what he stated in that interview and it was the only one I watched. If he is taking responsibility, great.

you are. the interview before the finals, Seth says something along the lines that the folks at SDSU support him versus Iowa City. Or better people for him or some BS. I took it the same way you did.

Thats probably where we are getting confused because I've never seen the interview you are talking about. I've only seen the one Chief posted above.

I think the interview Czech is talking about was a short clip right before the 133 finals match.

He had a chance to stick around, work hard, and earn his way back on the team that gave him his college shot and he chose to bail. No thanks.

I hope this doesnt sound like I am arguing with you I think your point is reasonable, but maybe he just felt like he needed a fresh start. I guess I just experienced that recently so it came to mind. No I didnt do anything wrong but due to lifes ups and down I felt like I needed a change. I know there are people who think i bailed and are resentful, but life can be complicated and it's hard to see the whole picture some times. He was a grown man and he blew it so I guess people have the right to be angry with him for that, but I will withhold judgement of his course of making it right. Again, I'm not arguing just offering a different perspective.

I've killed people just for saying that, does that mean I'm as bad or better then a thief?

i vote that Mr. Gross has fully learned his lesson and he is welcome to return to Iowa City.
Gotta give him credit, he's kicking ass and taking names this year. Sure could have used him at 141, but whatever. He gone.

All of a sudden the Apple Valley program that wasn't producing much for College versus their National image, had 2 former guys in the NCAA Finals (granted Hall isn't from anywhere near Apple Valley but..............).
