yes just posted it on twitter.Anyone else hearing that Shapiro is headed to ISU? Great get for whoever lands this kid.
It's been announced by the man himself...Anyone else hearing that Shapiro is headed to ISU? Great get for whoever lands this kid.
Good get for them. Does he project as a 184 or 197? If it is a 197 it doesn't sting that bad but could have used him at 184.

I can see both. Having talked with a few coaches who said he had a big growth spurt. If another one hits he likely is 197. Not sure this played a factor but 197 was a road block in Iowa city. Maybe not so much in Ames. I'm also not hearing very good news about Teske either.
Good for ISU though.
Good for ISU on both guys. In year's past, Iowa would have got these guys, and along with "Little Tony", Lugo, and maybe another guy, would have called it a recruiting year.
Now, they are hunting top tens and I think they have two guys left on the target list. A 133, 149, or 184. I think 133 and 184 are the priority.
Why 33 over 49?
Lugo gives our coaches a chance to make 149 a priority in recruiting next year if they want. I'm still on the Sasso bandwagon, regardless.I'm guessing because of Lugo
I could argue we have longer term solutions at 33 over 49 with Mejia coming....I'm guessing because of Lugo
To much talent at 133 in this years class to sit on the sidelines.I could argue we have longer term solutions at 33 over 49 with Mejia coming....
Lugo has 2 after having to sit out..
Fair enough. To much talent at 133 in this years class to sit on the sidelines.

IMO Sasso is going to tOSU and the staff knew this long ago, hence Lugo. I think that buys a need for 149 in the 2019 class. I do think Hidlay is in play and the staff is all in on a 133. I would be surprised if Teasdale isn't still in play and see's the iowa lightweight partners and what just happened in Lincoln. The momentum of PSU at NCAA was a too hard to ignore but that's now old news to the Iowa/Terry brands WTT's.
And Spencer is telling him how awesome it is in Iowa City!
Hidlay and Teasdale would be another #1 class
HuhWell when TNT say they are committed to you even after you decomit on them. Loyalty! The WTT, Gilman trounces Nico. Perry and Delgado come aboard, Cael still wants RBY and posters on their site talk about RBY having more upside.
F'them Gavin, come on back to the dark side. We can offer a spot on Spencer and Warners couch!
yeah Teske would be a program changer for ISU. Maybe not in terms of he will be Spencer Lee but in terms of he can be a 4x AA kid who sets the example of how hard you work in the practice room and gets the others to buy in. Metcalf type focus
Teske to me is Dylan Peters. I loved everything about Dylan Peters in high school, thought he would be an multiple time AA, wanted to cheer for him, but also knew (thought) Clark/Gilman were better.
Shapiro is going to put together a really nice career at ISU I think.
Quick edit: Hate to admit it, but I really thought out of high school Meeks was going to be the best college wrestler out of Meeks, Clark, Peters.
And battled multiple serious injuries.peters was a multiple aa
peters was a multiple aa
Levi Wolfensperger is also a good comparison out of HS, IMHO.
