Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

  • Although federal law prohibits the possession of newly manufactured machine (automatic) guns, it allows the transfer of machine guns lawfully owned prior to May 19, 1986, if the transfer is approved by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF);
  • A substantial number of machine guns are still in circulation — as of November 2006, the national registry of machine guns contained registrations for 391,532 of them.
So there are already strict laws governing them. Good.

Those strict laws, as well as the laws against murder, didn't prevent this. We can make some new laws though.

No, no, no - we should loosen up all the laws because some how that will make us safer! And add silencers to the fully-automatic rifles - because AWESOME!

Do you see where we are today? Today didn't happen in 8mths... I know you wish it were true so your savior and messiah wouldn't have tarnish on his legacy.

Can't show a blind person what they don't want to see.

Uh...this isn't a new phenomenon and certainly happened before Obama got into office. Again, how has the country been "driven into the ground"?

Sorry, I know someone posted the exact number with a link, I was thinking it was you.

Wasn't me, but I'm sure it's probably accurate. You're one of the rational folks on here on issues like this, that isn't prone to hyperbole and fake facts.

From what I have seen so far, this guy who did the shooting had no criminal record. Sounds like he had everything set up to see if the cops were coming. He broke out a window in a motel to shoot at thousands at a concert.

Also seems like he had a good job, could afford what he wanted to do and no one had any indication of mental illness.

From what has been reported to date.

I don't care what laws you have in place, for some reason this guy was going to get this done no matter what. Don't think new laws would have prevented this from happening.

Vegas strip should be fun free zone with airport type security at every casino.

I will be interesting to see if he purchased those firearms through legal or illegal channels.

This guy was no dummy. My guess would be he had the ability to change things to make it fire like a machine gun.

There was a TON of planning that had to take place.

What do I make of it? Unless the mystical second shooter replaced the glass or could shoot thru glass .....nothing. I make nothing of it because only two windows were blown out and they were both in his suite.

The wife and I arrived in Vegas this morning. Definitely a very somber mood at the airport and hotel. Definitely praying for all of those impacted.

Can always count on Trad to throw in some xenophobia.
so this is an Asian thing? good thanks for splaining. I was thinking maybe it was a country music thing or antifa thing maybe. anti trump thing. the Asian angle makes much more sense. the Asians don't get enough attention actually.

None of this make sense, I have my doubts that this guy was the actual shooter. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he was dead in that room from right after he checked in

She was out of the country since something like September 15....WEEKS prior.
Doesn't mean she won't still have explaining to do. I'm not sure why people are so quick to say she's good to go and knew nothing. I'm not saying she's guilty of anything, but I'm saying it's absolutely worth looking in to a bit more than talking to her on the phone.

all angles need to be looked at

As posted in another thread:

Your nutty little conspiracy theories here are full of holes:

  1. She was out of the country >2 weeks prior to this incident. That's easy to document, based on passport records (thank GOD we 'automate' and computerize THOSE, or it'd take MONTHS to figure out where she was)
  2. She willingly returned to the US; if you have ANY semblance of complicity or guilt, no way in HELL you come back - you take the wired money and head straight for a country with no extradition treaties with the US. Like somewhere in Central or South America
  3. When she arrived back, she was not arrested and put in cuffs. ANY evidence linking her, and they'd have arrested her immediately for questioning and charges would be filed in short order. None of that has happened, to my knowledge, and they'd EASILY have $10M bail on her to prevent her from fleeing the country (which, as noted above, makes no sense because she was already able to flee and hide anywhere in the world)

Please show me a post of mine that has anything to do with conspiracy theories about the shooter and his girlfriend. I'll wait, take your time.
