Should I go see Dwight Yoakam?

In St Auggie Beach and it's supposed to be nice tomorrow night. Tix are $25 to see titled. I am not a country or western fan but like live music so is this worthy of $25?

A friend of mine went to see him a few years ago and said two things about the show.

One, it was fantastic, and two...it was LOUD. Like, don't forget ear plugs loud.

No, the Mavericks are a different band. They have a few fantastic songs as well. Dwight’s one of my favorites. Count on him showing up late. He’s not really what I would call an entertainer, just stands up there and sings. But I like stuff like that.

Cheap ticket, just go. I’ve only seen him live at a FarmAid show so only limited stage time to judge from, but he was great and I wanted more. I’m not a country fan either.

I was today years old when I learned that was actually Dwight Yoakam. I just thought he was a guy who looked like him since it was such a small part.

We're in St A Beach. I think it's just a hood, free parking at the elementary school less than a mile from the venue. Apparently 311 played the venue last week. Darryl Hall plays this venue Thursday night.

We're not on the west coast this year due to health issues, mine and family. This is just a quick getaway and then back to Iowa Friday.
