Should this police officer be fired?

Did you miss the pictures from the "Liberate Michigan- rally a while back?

You might want to check those out.

The incident began after an airline ticket agent called police, the mayor said.
A dispatcher told Rodriguez that Anderson was behind a re-booking counter, threatening employees. Rodriguez, when he arrived, saw her "yelling obscenities" at the workers, Rodriguez wrote in the arrest affidavit.

According to the affidavit, a service center supervisor told Rodriguez that:

• Anderson had arrived late for her flight and was denied boarding, and was directed a re-booking desk to be assigned to a different flight.

• She became upset when she was told the next available flight to her final destination wouldn't be until the next morning.

• Anderson went behind the counter to retrieve her boarding pass, and when she was told she wasn't allowed to be there, she allegedly threatened and cursed employees.

• The supervisor told the woman she now would not travel with the airline, and her fare would be reimbursed.

In the affidavit, Rodriguez writes that he then spoke to Anderson, and told her she'd be able to find a flight with another provider. He asked her to gather her belongings so he and another officer could escort her away from the airport's secured side, the affidavit reads.

Anderson "became belligerent and began to yell obscenities" and, referring to the service supervisor, said, "I should go over there and punch him in his face," the affidavit reads.

When Rodriguez told her again to gather her belongings, Anderson "aggressively approached this officer (Rodriguez) violating this officer's personal space, bumped this officer with her body and struck this officer with her head on the chin while screaming, 'What are you going to do?' " according to the affidavit.

"This officer immediately took a step back, struck (her) on the left side of the face with an open hand. (She) stumbled backwards and at that time she was taken to the floor where she was taken into custody," the affidavit states.

Sounds racist

We can’t have cops that are unable to control their emotions or actions.
He assaulted her. He’s lucky he’s only fired and not charged.
Control their emotions? He hit her with a blind hook. F this guy.

The video, which was shown a few times this morning on “CBS This Morning” is not nearly a complimentary to the officer, Trad. Just saying...there are two sides to the story...but the officer acted like a total dick here. Not saying he wasn’t justified to an extent, just saying he was out of line. If for no other reason Trad, you NEVER hit a lady...and the tape didn’t look like an “ open handed” slap on the face.

Can you explain how you go about arresting someone who jumps in your face and yells, WHAT YOU GONNA DO???? without assaulting them?

There are violent, dangerous people walking around among us. Some of them are even females. We simply cannot expect the police to risk their own health by being "restrained". She absolutely committed battery on that officer, and she deserved the smackdown.

Well, the first thing I wouldn’t do is clock them in the head from the side. I guess he ran out of options.

If a female commits battery on me you can call me a bitch. Women rarely initiate physical confrontation, they’re just “talkative,” violence is almost always initiated by a male. She provoked it, so what? Don’t bite. He got snagged.

“you NEVER hit a lady”

Never?

What if the lady is about to shoot or stab you?

Maybe this guy had a long day, had other things going on, whatever. It does not matter. He is a POS for hitting a woman like that, it wasn’t self defense.

So, she should just be allowed to get in his face and swing her hand at his face?

Again, what's the "approved police tactic" in this situation?

So, what would you have done, Fred Rogers? How do you get this crazy woman out of your face and gently arrest her? Maybe a hug?
Maybe a push off? Grab her hands and ask her to calm down? Clock her in the head? Really?

Can it be in between a hug and a left hook? Probably somewhere in between there.

Alternatively he could have filled her eyeballs with OC. Shook the can a bit and squeezed the last drop out it.

To act like a man. There are thousands of other tactics that are more appropriate than punching her in the f**king head.

You defuse the situation. Calm her down. She was upset and used her words. He was upset and used his fist.
So, now he’s fired.

I'm sorry, there are "ladies" who would beat you down. They're not all delicate flowers. Especially the one in the video.

I thought the genders were supposed to be equal now days.

Would you have a problem if he punched a man?

And how do we know this was a female in these gender-bending days?

Yeah, so lets encourage everyone to do this during interactions with police and fire any cops who get physical.

Great plan, America.

We're fvcked.
