Should We Give Anti-Aircraft Missiles to Syrian Rebels?

Yeah, if we're flying bombing missions, it doesn't make sense to scatter a bunch of anti-aircraft missiles throughout the theater.
Especially when so much of the stuff we have given to the "good" opposition over the last few years has ended up in the hands of ISIS or Al Nusra or whatever.
And even if that doesn't happen, just what do we expect Russia to do if one our missiles downs one of their planes? Which presumably will happen eventually unless we give them stuff that can only shoot down choppers or something.
With Russian support, the Syrian government appears to be winning. IMHO that would be the best outcome at this point. Better than years more of a civil war between a bunch of groups, mostly made up of dangerous fundamentalists.
Exactly, we've seen how well our policy of degrading countries into lawless tribal wasteland has worked.
thats a great idea. Lets arm the future terrorists groups that we will fight tomorrow with equipment to take down the aircraft trying to reign em in
Well actually we've been doing a pretty good job of degrading countries and creating chaos in those regions.
If a Martian were trying to figure out our objectives he would probably assume that's exactly what we have been trying to do. Eliminate any major organized threat from that region by making a bickering shambles of the place.
