What's the over/under on how many, if any, members of the Signalgate crew that released war secrets on social media and then lied about it to Congress will be terminated or will resign? At this point I'd say probably zero, but as more info comes out, there may be more pressure to identify a scapegoat. Bonespurs has a habit of not knowing what's going on, as he has claimed here. Then jumping in to identify a scapegoat that will give his lack of knowing what is going on some cover.

I’ll guarantee Congress spends more time on this than they’ve spent last 15 months discussing the war we’re waging (flailing?) with Yemen, without Congressional authorization.

None. Trump only has one requirement. Support him. No matter what. And frankly all the other Republicans only care about this too. As long as you don't betray him he will never fire you.

Good thread. Needed another. Thanks for the continued use of Bonespurs. Continues to slap!
It's okay, you don't have to be embarrassed that the President of the good ol' USA lied to dodge the draft. It'll be there... every time. Lest anyone forget. 🫡

Luckily we already know how many people got fired for 13 dead soldiers in Afghanistan. The left must be pretty desperate if this is what they are clinging to right now. A mistake where nobody got hurt and the mission went off as planned.
What you call a mistake everyone else calls a massive exposure of national security to foreign enemies combined with countless felonies committed by Trump's people.

And everybody in the world may have known it was coming too, because they shared it on social media. Like a bunch of dumbasses. Then they lied about it to congress. Welcome to dumpster fire administration #2. Certainly more dip-shittedness to come.

Trump called it a witch hunt, so I'd guess zero. We are being 'led' by careless morons.

But worse than 13 dead soldiers, got it.

What got exposed that now endangers our national security?

Nothing.

The outrage should be continuing to wage this war without Congressional approval, but since the Democrats stopped asking Congress for authorization of their wars a few decades ago, I'm not confident this issue is going to be addressed.

Steve Urkel Oops GIF

The real issue is, the only thing worse than a third string administration, is a fourth string administration. And that is rapidly approaching based on how the first term turnover went and how this term has started.

Suppose Bonespurs and his goofy crew are going to put the nuclear codes on social media too? Just asking for a friendly country.

Oh, FFS. If this had happened under Team Biden, you would have linked 50 different articles within the first 24 hours.

So no actual worry, just these quality hypotheticals.
As I suspected.
You don’t have the intelligence to suspect anything. Just keep copying/pasting words from articles where you conveniently delete parts of said articles. You & @Phenomenally Frantastic are biggest jokes on the board. Congrats to you for being in the same boat as PF, I’m sure you’re proud.

The US is not officially at war with Yemen as a country, but it is engaged in military operations against terrorist organizations within Yemen. There have been surgical strikes under Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations.

Jfc. The fact this communication took place on the platform it did is the issue. If I drove home drunk but didn’t get caught or in a crash, does that make it ok?

My complaints about the Trump team on this war are identical to my complaints about the Biden team.

Go get Congressional approval for your premediated war, that is in no way an emergency response to an imminent threat that precludes Congressional authorization (readily admitting the could wait another month to start).

Has the White House

Impeach Trump for violating the War Powers Resolution.

CONSULTATION

SEC. 3. The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities or into situation where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, and after every such introduction shall consult regularly with the Congress until United States Armed Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from such situations.

REPORTING

SEC. 4. (a) In the absence of a declaration of war, in any case in which United States Armed Forces are introduced--

(1) into hostilities or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances;

(2) into the territory, airspace or waters of a foreign nation, while equipped for combat, except for deployments which relate solely to supply, replacement, repair, or training of such forces; or

(3) in numbers which substantially enlarge United States Armed Forces equipped for combat already located in a foreign nation; the president shall submit within 48 hours to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President pro tempore of the Senate a report, in writing, setting forth--

(A) the circumstances necessitating the introduction of United States Armed Forces;

(B) the constitutional and legislative authority under which such introduction took place; and

(C) the estimated scope and duration of the hostilities or involvement.

(b) The President shall provide such other information as the Congress may request in the fulfillment of its constitutional responsibilities with respect to committing the Nation to war and to the use of United States Armed Forces abroad

(c) Whenever United States Armed Forces are introduced into hostilities or into any situation described in subsection (a) of this section, the President shall, so long as such armed forces continue to be engaged in such hostilities or situation, report to the Congress periodically on the status of such hostilities or situation as well as on the scope and duration of such hostilities or situation, but in no event shall he report to the Congress less often than once every six months.

The U.S. hasn’t been ‘officially’ at war your entire life.

The War Powers Resolution certainly covers the ‘non-war wars’ we wage in a near continuous fashion.

If you drove home drunk yesterday without incident, does it that historical fact itself constitute a perpetuating threat?
Or would the concern be whether or not you did it again?

So no harm no foul. Watching you guys flail defending this utter incompetence is highly entertaining. The right wing talking point is “beat the no harm no foul” mantra to the ground. It won’t work. Water isn’t dry.

Well if they share military attack planning on social media, the codes can't be too far behind. You don't give them credit for being smarter than that do you? Nobody else does.

I’m beginning to think someone is going to have to take the fall for it all because there’s some significant pushback brewing.

Hegseth will be shown the door. Only wish I was a fly on the wall to witness his epic alcohol induced breakdown.

He'll hang on a bender and then go looking for some skank in a bar.
