So, how is the North endzone coming along....and will I be served alcohol?

It is kind of interesting how all sports stadiums (take a look around, MLB, NFL and now NCAA stadiums on campus) are trying to install mid-range concourses fueled with spirits to enhance the sports experience. I went to Iowa in the late 80s and you could take one bota, per person, into the stadium. Usually loaded with bourbon or vodka. You needed to have that to watch the later years of Hayden's teams tie John Cooper's Ohio St. team on a shanked Jeff Skillet FG attempt. In recent years, when I have went back to IC, the IC police are Nazis with alcohol. And I rarely imbibe anymore. Although, I am in favor of alcohol being served in the stadium. That way nobody feels the need to get hammered before they get into Kinnick. What do you think?

its crazy because they had more room to work with when re-doing the South EZ; why didn't they enclose it, like they are doing with the North EZ?
The north end zone needs it more it gets less sun and is more windy especially late October into November.

I thought the renderings showed a big scoreboard like the south EZ
Just a a taller video board in the middle of the Top bleachers. Unless adaptations have been made from the early renderings. So far the renderings are very close to the actual.

Are you saying that students are the only fans who make noise?

Noise at the north end has never been a problem, and the design helps. The South would be weak without the students, thanks to the poor rebuild of 2005-6. Gotta keep em there.

Just going off my experience before I had student tickets that's all
I used to think the same thing until getting season tickets in the North, but the sound travels so much better from that side. Most games the band/student section sound muffled. Granted I manage to make it to 1 or 2 games a year now so my sample size isn't nearly what it used to be

That could be because my seats before the student section was usually higher up in the south EZ so my thinking may be like yours before getting tickets in the north ez

That looks nice and makes you realize how poor of a design the south endzone is.

Respectfully 311, don't forget what's under the South end zone. And also recall the year it was done.

Personally I think the South was done well but I wish the Jumbotron was twice the size. :D

The problem with the South was they had too much room to work with so it appears they just came up with the easiest design possible.

I’m certainly not qualified to discuss it. Just seemed they did a good job with the locker rooms and seating improved.

I’ve never really given it any thought.
