First off, he was an amazing person with a plethora of talents. Trained Balllerina, trained in martial arts, trained in acting.

He loved animals. He wanted to have kids, but didn't work out.

Seeems like everyone that knew him, loved him.

I didn't realize his brother (who I recognize) was also an actor.

I'm not sure what format it is available on. I recorded it a long time ago and have been working on clearing out TIVo

the chippendales skit with Farley is an all time classic.

Shortly after Michael Jackson died it was announced Swayze was fighting pancreatic cancer, then the following joke began circulating:

Q: What is Michael Jackson getting for Christmas?
A: Patrick Swayze

I used to laugh at that but now feel badly for doing so. Swayze put up one hell of a fight, and as OP pointed out he was a good person.

I saw a documentary on Farley's final days. It was insane.

He binged on hookers, blow, heroin, booze and food for 72 hours without sleeping then dropped dead on his condo floor clutching a rosary.
Yup. Allegedly, his last words were "don't leave me" as the last hooker left him on the floor during his last moments. The pictures are horrible.

And one of the hookers stopped to steal his watch on her way out. Read The Chris Farley Show if you haven’t already - highly recommend. Several close friends and family realized Chris actually felt people were laughing at him, not with him, and it absolutely contributed to his addiction and death.

How long is it? If it’s a lengthy edging session I want to be prepared.

Chris Rock and Adam Sandler later said that Chippendales skit was humiliating to Farley and contributed to his increasing drug addiction and untimely death so I don't like it as much.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. :)
That's bullshit, he did more coc before that then most people could do in their whole lives. Good story for them to drum up though.

The parallels to Belushi are downright scary. Both died at the age of 33. Both overweight. Both succeeded in acting, although Belushi had more of a breakout role in the romantic comedy Continental Divide. I guess the same could have been true with Farley and Shrek. Both died via a speedball (coke and heroin combined). The crazy part is their last known words:

Just don't leave me alone,” Belushi said to her, which is believed to be the actor's last words. Smith, however, left the hotel room about 30 minutes later. When she returned at around 2 p.m., Belushi's body had been discovered and the hotel was swarming with police and press.

Swayze’s final film role was in Powder Blue. Jessica Biel played a stripper who poured hot candle wax over her body. Just in case you’re into that sort of thing.

Most of Farley's sketches were very self-deprecating. Even his movies...fat guy in a little coat.
Kinda what I was thinking. He had a life of fame and fortune based on being adept and portraying the fat idiot that everyone laughed at. Strange that that one act had such an effect on him.
