I was of the mind he was trying to pull an act on the peeps to get his fame and fortune. I have now evolved into thinking he is ACTUALLY 100% serious. Kind of scary.

Does HROT think he is really espousing his true views or is it an act to grab money and power?

I think he is still keeping his real views under wraps, but if you listen to his father you will get a glimpse of what he likely really believes.

Its hard to take many of his words seriously; when he gives speeches against crony capitalism for example.

I have no reason to think he isn't 100% serious.

But, on the other hand, listening to Obama's mother, father, mentor and minister provide no insights whatever into his thinking processes.

As previously mentioned, I doubt if what he says about Goldman Sachs is serious.

That's different.

I have often wondered if Goldman Sachs will ever get a seat at the table to help call shots. It seems Ted may give them an in.

From Wiki: Cruz and his wife, Heidi (née Nelson), have two daughters. Cruz met his wife while working on the George W. Bush presidential campaign of 2000. She is currently head of the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and previously worked in the White House for Condoleezza Rice and in New York as an investment banker.

I'm pretty sure you thought they did. And if Obama had asked Wright to represent him rather then disavowing him that view would have been valid, just as it is for Cruz.

We don't know yet. At this point in his presidential race, Obama was still defending Wright and ripping his critics.

I think she quit her job recently - that's what necessitated a new health insurance policy for the family Cruz. Not that it makes any difference.

I don't trust Cruz. He has thin lips.

I don't know if he's 100% on board with all of his views publicly expressed views, but most of his views are those in which a majority of Americans believe.

Is there one or two you have a problem with? Obviously his views are much less concerning than those of someone like Elizabeth Warren, but I'm sure you probably don't agree with everything he says.

Of corse we know. Cruz is sending his dad out to represent him as an anointed prince of God as part of his christian dispensation belief system. That's very different than Obama's relationship with Wright.

Obama was practically doing that at a comparable point in his campaign. But I do not expect Cruz to repudiate his father based on polls. He's no Obama.

It was 50 years ago that ultra-conservative Barry
Goldwater was trounced by L.B.J. in the election
for U.S. President.

Since that time the GOP has never nominated an
ultra-conservative to run for President. Ted Cruz
has no chance for the nomination due to the
debacle staged by Barry Goldwater.
