So, was Stanley interviewed post-game?

Coming into today's game, here is Stanley's career stats.
320-556 57.6% 4,053 yards 42 TD's 12 INT's 139.4 rating.

Yeah, I guess your right, he has done nothing but suck.

I knew his career numbers would come up. They tell very little of the story. If you have one game of 14-16 for 400 yards and 6 TDS. But, go 2-20 with a pic in another 5, you're overall numbers would look decent. If a RB goes for 200 in Game 1 and then 25 yards in each of the next 4, he'd have 300 yards in 5 games, which is good. But, he's not having a good year.

1. 18-49 205 2 INTS
2. 11-22 86 1 and 1
3. 11-23 108 1 and 1
4. 16-28 166
5. 8-15 125 3 and 1
6. 16-31 197
7. 8-24 41 and 1 INT
8. 15-22 176 1 and 1
9. 15-27 1 and 1
10. 8-15 99 1 TD

Those are the clunkers he's thrown up. They are offset by the Indiana, UNI, ISU and OSU Games. Which bring all his career numbers way up. But, as you can see way, way, way more clunkers than really good ones.

Like I have said, he has been inconsistent. So whats your answer, want to bench him for Mansell? In his limited action, I don't think we can say he has lit the college football world on fire.

No its not inconsistent. Inconsistent would be up and down. He's going, at best, at a 2 to 1 bad games to good games rate. That's not good. Not "inconsistent." And a guy with 16 starts should not be "inconsistent." Nor should it be excused.

Yes I think he should be benched. I think he's a mental midget. I think physically he looks the part, but it doesn't work. I know what I have in him, a bad QB. Let see what I have in Peyton.

And...what’d he have to say for himself?
He said he needs to play better. Left a lot of opportunities out there today. Said they lost by 6 and he had Hockenson wide open for 7, so that's on him and that one will stick with him for a while. Said he should have taken a timeout instead of hurried to get the snap off when he threw the INT. Thumb got hit, but no excuse, needs to play better.

If the ONE receiver he stares down is open by a good scheme and route combination, he may hit him and looks like a good QB. He has NO pocket presence, no desire or ability to run, etc... He had a play where he had just a little pressure and he 'spun' right into the blitzing corner. I have never thought he was a good QB who makes good decisions and have never enjoyed watching him. Mental midget is appropriate.

You are pathetic...or as coach Fry affectionately called guys like you - a jock sniffer.

Meaning you have idea, no comprehension, just full of words you couldn’t back up I. Your wildest dreams.

Trace McSorely was 11-25. That’s not exactly setting the world on fire either. He’s a big running threat though which is a big advantage in those conditions. Knew it would be going in.

OK. Thanks for the info. I guess Nate hits everybody in stride and doesn't have games where he goes 18-49

Yeah, and were talking about mental midgets around here. LOL. Good one ichawk. I am sorry that you have been personally put out by Nate Stanley, maybe you can hire Hupy and Abraham and suit him for damages.....Dumbass.

Ohio State, 2017?
Um, we ran for 243 yds. which opened play action and Ohio st. blew coverage numerous times, and he hit the one receiver he looked at on numerous plays and they were isolated and open BY DESIGN. You think Stanley won the game for us last year? LOL

Thank you Blair. I'm so ashamed to be a Hawkeye today. Not because of Nate's performance. Because of the fans reaction here on HR.

Total Crap. Agree, you can't criticize Nate Stanley about his play. We all have bad days. College kids don't perform each and every day. He's a great Hawkeye who wants to win more than any fan. However, his coach is a professional and paid to be such. He should know his QB is hurt, not playing well. He needs to put the next guy in. Losing this probably did more to screw up Stanley's mental toughness than being benched for a series or two. Not saying he can't return to the game but needs a series to rest.

And we faced criticism when we did. It's OK, he's an adult and its fair. Now if you talk about killing him or attacking his family, sure. Talking about how he overthrows a wide open TE by about 2798387213697192038123 yards is totally fair and reasonable

You are correct, we should be blaming the Ferentz's for continuing to play him. I know he's not trying to hurt my feelings.

I can't help you. I don't attend practices. If you tell me Mansel or Petras were better options than you might be right. Still gonna support the Hawks. Hope to see them back in the Rose Bowl because I am close enough to go that game.

Winning is everything and Stanley knows this because he is a competitor. For you guys that have never played college (or any level) football, it is hard for your to understand. Life is bigger than football. This game and the coaches will make him a better man in life from this learning experience.

Great.

Is it gonna help him come closer to hitting the ball catcher?

You can learn just as much about being a man from the bench....maybe more.

Ivory Kelly-Martin got benched for under performing today, he turned the ball over and his play didn’t put Iowa in the best position to win...

And Stanley 'tweaked' his thumb. What's your point?
One went to the bench because he couldn't and wasn't performing his best and the other stood around and threw into the ground and to the other team.
My point was that IKM didn’t get benched for underperforming

Guessing you know a lot about that. All you do is attack these kids. You've attacked a lot of them. That makes you feel how? Superior? Don't understand how grown men, probably a parent, do this.
No, I criticize their play and attack fans who are always talking about how all these kids are leaving for the NFL, etc. I'm only interested in being superior to you. We aren't talking to the 'kids' on this site, it's a place to vent, or at least I thought it was.
