So, was Stanley interviewed post-game?

I think you're taking it too personally.

There is a lot of fan criticism that is usually off base and almost always hysterical, and usually uttered from the same people who like to thump their chests over other people's accomplishments. That's what they're making fun of.

Nate Stanley sucked yesterday. There isn't much debate about that. I thought he should have been pulled for his mental health. Whether Mansell would have made a difference in the outcome is irrelevant.

I agree with you. That's why I initally responded I didn't get the post at all that called me a jock sniffer and that I was the one talked about in the film room. I didn't get why I was being picked out for seeing what everybody else has seen. A lot more noise than coming form me. I've talked about one player all year. That's it. I'm not out bashing the team, I just don't think Nate is very good and pointed that out and yesterday tipped the scales into "just get rid of him" side for me.

You're entitled to your opinion like anyone else.

He's got a lot of strengths and has the potential to be a really good quarterback. He's just wildly inconsistent. I think his biggest issue is between his ears. And I'm guessing noone is harder on Nate Stanley than Nate Stanley.

I would have pulled him yesterday for his mental health. Give him a chance to regroup for a couple series and see how things go with Mansell. You don't just throw him away, though. If not for special teams gaffes, Nate Stanley-led Iowa would have been undefeated going into yesterday. And, let's be real, Mansell is not a panacea. Yesterday, though, yes, Stanley should have been benched.

Um, we ran for 243 yds. which opened play action and Ohio st. blew coverage numerous times, and he hit the one receiver he looked at on numerous plays and they were isolated and open BY DESIGN. You think Stanley won the game for us last year? LOL

My response was to a claim that he hasn’t done well against “good teams.” He has before. I posted an example. It’s really that simple to understand. Don’t put words in my mouth.

Well actually I don't think most knowledgeable fans are calling for Mansell, other than for the belief that "if we pull our QB that might motivate him to play better"..........It won't at Iowa. Never has. Never will. And I know that, for those of you that are going to ask, and no you all won't get a "how" for the simple fact that you bothered to ask that in the first place.....and you will deal with it.

But back to the point, I think most are with you in understanding that Stanley is still our best option.
I don't understand that. Sorry, I must be stupid.

No its not inconsistent. Inconsistent would be up and down. He's going, at best, at a 2 to 1 bad games to good games rate. That's not good. Not "inconsistent." And a guy with 16 starts should not be "inconsistent." Nor should it be excused.

Yes I think he should be benched. I think he's a mental midget. I think physically he looks the part, but it doesn't work. I know what I have in him, a bad QB. Let see what I have in Peyton.

A mental midget?? Good lord you need to have your head examined.

Statistically he will be.

But until it actually happens, we have to assume that he isn't going to QB Iowa to any meaningful victories as far as competing for championships go.

The OSU game was great, but just like the Michigan game in 2016, it was won by an underachieving team that pulled an upset for one singular signature win on the season.

Iowa isn't gonna get that this year unless we play in a good bowl game and win.
Well if they beat Purdue it will be an upset.

Well he isn't losing his starting job and probably shouldn't.
Crap happens and as hawk fans this shouldn't really surprise us right over the years this type of play happens more times then not.
Stanley is our qb he has the skills but he doesn't seem to have that it factor.
Hopefully he rebounds and we can see some more great games threw out this year and win a good bowl game.
