So we’re the 6-seed.

NU is the 14 seed, but four teams are still in play for the 11: PSU, Rutgers, Illinois, and Indiana

So we’ll play one of those five teams Thursday around 8:30

Cmon guys. Iowa can beat any of those teams easily if we play well. If we don't we won't beat any of them. Relax. We'll do what we do. They have already done better than 90% of us thought they would. Anything else is just gravy. I hope we kick ass but we'll see. No reason to be bitter.

I agree, BUT we haven't played well in over a month and seem to be trending in the wrong direction. I hope the team can figure out whatever is missing and fix it quick, because this team can be very fun to watch when playing well.

I don't want to play any of those teams.

And yet IA is 6-1 this season against the teams IA will be facing. That being said, I agree that IA seems to trending down while the others are trending up but IA has a very reasonable chance in the BTT; particularly that first game.

Scary part is, we are not playing nearly as well as we were during any of those wins, 3 of which came by way of buzzer beaters and the only comfortable win came from the best shooting performance I have seen from any Hawkeye team in a long time. They shot about 50% BETTER from 3 against Illinois than they have the past 3 games.

Rut just pounded us by 20 in Iowa City. I don’t want to play them again.

Or Ill, or P St, or, Ind. Or NW, or Neb, for that matter.

Rutgers beat us by shooting lights out from 3. next game they went like 5 to 25 From 3 pt land.

I can’t eat all the teams below them if they play the right way the whole key is if they are confident and knock down they’re open shots

Games of interest this weekend:

Rutgers at Indiana
Illinois at Penn State

Northwestern is locked into the 14 seed. They close at home against Purdue.

The tiebreakers here for the 11 seed are interesting.

If Indiana beats Rutgers, they get the 9 seed.

If Rutgers wins, they need Illinois to lose and they will be the 9.

If Illinois wins, they need Rutgers to beat Indiana, and they earn the 9 seed via tiebreaker.

Penn State is in the 12/13 game unless they beat Illinois. Then they would be the 11 seed against Northwestern.

Win or lose we will not face Nebraska again after Sunday unless they pull off several upsets in the BTT (and we actually make a run ourselves)......

We could play Illinois right now on their home court and win by double digits. They can’t guard our bigs and they don’t rotate well enough to nuetralize our shooters.

Please let it be Illinois.

Why is "They have already done better than 90% of us thought they would. Anything else is just gravy." OK? That is what is wrong with ALL of Iowa Athletics, Barta has built a culture of mediocrity and apparently you are quite content with it? Apparently you have very high expectations of Fran and his players, do 90% than if thought you would, you know go 10-10 in conference and I'm happy, cause I thought you were only going to go 2-18. Great season Fran, I'm pleased.

There’s a difference between not playing well, and simply not playing.

I wouldn’t be as frustrated if it was just a case of bad luck and they’ve been in each game. The type of game where you come away thinking “boy, just a couple plays here or there...but, they sure gave it their all!”

No, these games have left me thinking “why did I waste my time watching this bunch. They’re barely going through the motions”

Looks to me like you've reasoned with yourself and talked yourself in to a way out...

This team will have a tough time winning any game from here on out....it is very frustrating how bad they look when they are bad...

I have resigned myself to watching other things and flipping over to the game when I happen to think about it...

Hellerball is here...

I am happy with this season since we have improved by 7 games over last year. I feel the program is heading in the right direction. Obviously the last 3 games have been very, very bad. So yes, I am happy with 6th place in the B1G and an NCAA bid for this season.

Thanks for the breakdown; who gets the 11 seed in all those scenarios if it’s not PSU?

We obviously can’t look past Thursday, but let’s do anyway. If NU upsets PU the Boilers are the 3 seed. If PU wins, then the loser of UM-MSU is the 3 seed
