Gonna be tough to win ... I think I heard Jess Settles mention on KXNO that Iowa has lost the last 18 games at MSU? Yikes ... Izzo is a good coach. They will be ready ... I won't be shocked if MSU dominates and wins by 10-13 ... Hope I am wrong ... I just know Izzo will have the players focused ...
My oldest daughter was conceived, carried, born, raised, educated and graduated from college since Iowa last won in East Lansing. We will win one of these years. Maybe this is the year.
Really hope that we don't have to have a current player pass away the way Chris Street did right before that game to motivate the Hawks to win there this time.
Someone should show Jarrod Uthoff a tape of Iowa's game way back in the 70's when Terry Furlow scored a record 50 points for the Spartans against Iowa when Iowa was playing at home then. Remembered that from the time I was switching from living in Spartanland to Iowa CIty around that time later that year. It was also back when Gus Ganakas was coaching the Spartans instead of Heathcoate when he brought on Magic Johnson. Maybe that could motivate Uthoff that much more to match Furlow's performance in East Lansing to win there with 50 points.
...
Furlow still owns the school's top two single-game scoring efforts with 50 and 48 points in back-to-back games in 1976 with no three-point line. The three-point line wasn't adopted until after his college career had ended in the 1980s. He also scored 35 or more points eight times at MSU.
During Furlow's senior season, the sharpshooter went on an amazing hot streak where he racked up 140 points in less than a week. Furlow erupted for a school-best 50 points against Iowa, another 48 versus Northwestern three days later, and then 42 points against Ohio State two days later. I don't think anyone at MSU will be capable of going on a scoring binge of that caliber any time soon. I'm just saying.

Arguably it was Furlow who lead the charge to help rebuild the thirst for a successful Spartan program which got in Heathcoate after Ganakas was fired later and brought in players like Magic and Jay Vincent then. It would be fitting if Uthoff did the same in terms of a game performance in East Lansing on Thursday that one could say "Turnabout is..."! He's already did scoring in halves on that scale against a team like Iowa State, so he can do it I think.
