Sitting inside the wrestling complex...bucket list checked. First dude I saw walking in was Alex...good kid, very friendly. Got a pic with him. Said I wanted one with the next 2-3 time
NCAA champ. He corrected me and said 4. Guys were lifting and I didn't want to bug them.

Matt McD came over and took pics of my wife and I and one with him. His rehab is going well. My wife had an Arizona hat on...he let her know about it. Good dude.

As the street philosopher O'Shea Jackson once said, "Today was a good day."

Speaking of hats, I recently took grief from a well known poster on this board for a hat my daughter was wearing in a FB photo. She has a "friend" from Oklahoma and was wearing the OSU hat he gave her. I pointed out that I countered the hat with my bright yellow Iowa wrestling shirt. OBTW, her "friend" is attending ASU so I predict more opportunities for me to wear my Iowa gear.

After McD prints the pic. I'm sure he'll take the scissors to em. The only question is, which half will he keep on his bedroom wall? ;)

Gee thanks Chief, a working stiff such as myself, sitting behind a desk, counting down the hours until I get out, and no matter what I do this weekend, your Friday has it beat. Suddenly I am not looking forward to the weekend quite as much. What a downer this guy is, jerk.

In all seriousness, I am really jealous right now, but couldn't be happier for you and your amazing 1st visit to IC. As a stellar poster on HR, I am glad you are there rep'n for the rest of us. Post a pic or two if you get the chance.

If you want the real Iowa experience, ask Gilman for quick match. Then you can experience what it's like to get your ass kicked by a guy that weighs 125 lbs.

At this point, the little gal who showed us where the room is could kick my ass. Would have given a $100 donation to HWC to get a pic of Gilman face mushing me.

Didn't know what to expect when we walked into Carver but we found the room and it was one of those giddy, "should I go in" moments. Hung out for about a half hour...made my trip a success. Now to go get the wife an Iowa hat.

What did Tom say when he came in and you were giving the wrestlers pointers? I bet he was appreciative.

Tom heard I was there to call him out..."left for lunch." Got to show Bull some riding technique and a nifty move called the "half-nelson" (Google it)...he was like, "how did I get four state titles and become a Hawkeye without this is my arsenal?" Was about to give M* some recruiting tips but they said he was in ####### (Edit: Redacted by HR staff...we now have a pic of this Azchief character and he's never coming back to the room. Seriously, he pissed all over the toilet seats in the locker room and was yelling "Where the hell is Gobblin or Spooner!!!? Who's the insider now bitches??!! at the top of his lungs) on a trip. So I sent him an email...one never, I mean never, shows up at a recruits house without beer.

Interesting song reference, seeing as how you're "Living life like you're dying". I'm assuming that the bull's name was Fu Manchu?

Best laugh I've had in a long time! Very glad you were able to make it to the wrestling complex.

Good timing with the weather too. Where will you be dining?

If you have time, it's Solon Beef Days today and tomorrow. Hay bale toss is at 7 (usually some football players there). Ribeye dinner starts at 5.

Very cool Chief and thanks for sharing! Any chance you were able to find out what weight Teasdale will go at in 3 years.;)

I know that anxiety and nervous feeling before you walk into the room. Couple years ago my brother-in-law and I stopped down there after a football game just to check it out. Gable was in there with his grandson (also named Gable) and he told us to go on in and check it out, feel free to look around and then after our conversation was over he left. So my brother-in-law and I went in there and looked around and we both thought you know if we get caught in here and tell somebody that Gable said we could, they would call us lying sacks of $hit and never believe us. LOL

Don't do it Chief, no pictures of you or your wife! It'll ruin the image I have of you standing outside the pool hall with your buddies, saying, "That's what I like about High School girls man, I get older, they stay the same age."

BTW Chief, whenever I read any of your posts, I hear this Southern drawl. Don't tell me you don't really talk like that cuz again it'll ruin for me!

Good for you!! Glad you got the opportunity to see the inside of the room. I've been there a few times and always felt welcomed. I might add I am surprised you saw Matt after all Cory his wife's due date for their baby girl is today. Saw them both last night at my son's camp. Matt, Cory & the rest of his family and my family go back a ways..

You don't know when the end will be...I say a bucket list is a never ending, constantly evolving list and should the opportunity present itself to check off something from that list, do it.

Only one guy has that info...FACT!

No sir. Plan on being around for a long time. A real cool by product of today is that my wife was very impressed with both young men and the whole operation.

I might add I am surprised you saw Matt after all Cory his wife's due date for their baby girl is today.

Just goes to show how dedicated he is. Walked right up and started talking and asking if we wanted pictures. Some guys are at the bar having a drink when their kid is born...McD will probably be working out.

True story. Thanks for the suggestions. We at Joe's steakhouse and than took that walk you suggested to the old capitol and across the river this evening.

Chief, did you get a chance to graffiti Dresser's asterisk and color it orange?

Had the wife laughing with a lot of the back stories including the oranges. Speaking of oranges...it is my anniversary...Good night y'all

This "well-known poster" of whom you speak sounds like a real knucklehead.

I told you that I'll pay for supper for you and your wife if you stop in Ames at Hickory Park. Let me know. Anyone else other than you and your wife.?

Thanks bro but we are eating there tomorrow after my Mom's thing with 16 people...haha.
If you have any juice, it would be great to just be able to get seated. How about this...we have some beers together at the tourney.
