The 100 old jerks ( I am assuming you mean over the age of 55) you refer to more likely than not represent more than 50% of the Kinnick fan base .

These are the folks who have been to games since the 1970's and whose donations and loyalty have built the foundation of what you enjoy as Iowa Football right now. You can be as funny as you want to be but don't expect me to let you walk through during the game and don't be surprised if I make it clear that you are being an inconsiderate asswipe.

Actually I have aisle seats, and I generally stay there, and my family has had those seats since the 50's, stud. But you don't get to dictate how others behave is the point that I, and everyone else, is trying to make. Some people have small bladders. Some people want a Coke. Some people have friends they want to meet in different parts of the stadium. It's not them that ruins the experience at Kinnick, it's ass hats like you who cause a scene when someone else's version of fun differs from yours.

So you have to stand up for an extra 30 seconds to politely let someone by? Who cares? Get off your lazy ass and act like a gentleman instead of some entitled prick who thinks they deserve something because they paid exactly the same as 70,000 other people. Get off your high horse, no one is impressed with your internet tough guy routine.

When the game is being played sit down and watch it, when there is a time out or break in the action then get up and move. It's really simple courtesy and proper etiquette. I do not give a rats ass about what how society has evolved or changed, some basic rules always apply so do not expect me to accept being inconvenienced when some inconsiderate moron wants to walk in front of me when the game is being played , it is not going to happen .

As I've already said, personally I do wait because, like you, I don't want to miss the game. Why do you let someone walking in front of you for 3.1 seconds ruin the experience for you? Why do you let someone else have that much power over your enjoyment of the game?

While I believe there is a happy medium here, try getting up and walking out of your section during action in a Blackhawks, or for that matter, any hockey game. In fact, sections are often blocked off until a break in the action. Common courtesy.

I tend to agree with the majority of what you said with the basic exception of standing the whole game if you want, because it is your right. While it may be your right, it makes you a douche. I was at the game on Saturday and watched a rather large man be the only person standing in a section for maybe the first 5 minutes of the game. You know who was right behind him, a kid, who then had to try and look around him. My guess is the Dad did not want to make a scene. I could care less about passing down a coke, even getting up to go out during play, but sit your ass down until the person who is in front of you stands up, or the play on the field dictates you standing. Fair enough?

I’ll buy that 90%. It absolutely depends on which section you are in and who is around you.

Look, I can get annoyed by all of the same things the OP and others have called out. Common courtesy absolutely should be adhered to if and when possible. Being a decent human being is something that should be a part of the life experience, particularly in the MidWest.

The section I was in Saturday stood the entire game, so we stood the entire game. Had there been a kid behind our group, we would have made sure the kid and his family could see everything and enjoy the game.

My beef is more with the OP being a complete horse’s butt about what’s stuck in his craw. He is demanding everyone follow his edict and offers no exceptions. He went as far as to physically threaten people that don’t follow his edict. I think he is a troll merely attempting to stir the pot, so I am trying to make him look foolish.

If everyone shows up an hour and a half before kick-off, the lines to get in and the crowds in the narrow Kinnick concourses will make it such that many thousands still can't get to their seats before kick-off.

Same with everyone waiting for a time-out.

So... people would still be walking in front of you during live action.

If your in the student section and they are standing the whole game than great stand up .. if there is a big exciting moment and the people in front of you are standing or if they are playing g the fight song go ahead and stand up .. but if your just standing up for long periods of time with no real reason than sit your ass down so the person in back of you can see common courtesy goes a long ways

But how will I know what qualifies as an exciting moment? Do you have a phone number so I can text you or should I just make sure my seats are near you so I can look over and you can give me the nod of approval when it's ok to stand up?

Like what if it's the start of the 2nd quarter, Iowa ball on their own 25, I-formation with Easley on one side, ISM on the other, and Fant on the line...play action, Fant brushes off his LB and blows by the safety and is wide open down the middle of the field...I see it and know the bomb is coming, can I stand up and scream because we're about to score a 75 yard TD? Or does that not qualify as exciting/I have to sit until he actually crosses the goal line before I can cheer?
