Here's an interesting little tidbit.

Jarrod Uthoff is leading the nation in blocked shots per personal fouls. How about that? He's averaging 2.3 blocks per personal foul this season. Next closest is Jameel Warney of Stoney Brook at 1.67 blocks per personal foul.

What does this mean? Well, I don't know other than Jarrod's a pretty good shot blocker without committing a lot of fouls.

Something I've noticed about when Jarrod blocks shots: he doesn't swat at the ball like a lot of shot-blockers do. He meets the ball, stopping the shot. That's probably why he has fewer fouls.

I've noticed that from many of the TV camera angles, I don't even realize he blocked the shot until it ends up being short and one of our post guys grabs it.

Jarrod also seems to get a lot of blocks from behind or from the side, and typically against smaller opponents.

I've noticed that Jared doesn't swat at the ball like he is trying to spike it, more like he's trying to just get his hand on it. Keeps the ball in play, and sometimes even ending up in his own hands. Great instincts or technic, or both. Not sure which.

Exactly. He rarely blocks a shot when a guy is coming at him straight on. And he almost always gets a hand on the ball before it is released. A very unique talent.
