So your saying Keegan was fouled while making the tip in? No referee in his right mind would call a foul on that play on an away court. Wasn't going to happen, but for 3 professional Big Ten referee's to not spot the traveling on the tying 3 point field goal at the end of the first overtime is typical of the refereeing of games against Iowa as I can recall other referee non calls that resulted in Iowa losses. I don't watch all BT games so I'm sure it happens to other BT teams as well. But yeah it would be nice if college basketball referees were paid well enough that it was there only job and not a just a well paying part time job.

Up three, you don’t let them shoot a three, foul and let them go to the line. This is coaching 101 and we’ve got a coach that can’t figure this out 30 years in.

Fran is one of four coaches since WWII to coach for over 30 years and not make a sweet 16. Think about that stat for a minute. Time to move on to Bruce Pearl or John Beilein, take your pick.

But at least they reviewed the play and determined that all four of his feet were behind the line!

Dolph is a HFL (Hawk for life), but I can't help but think he gets a little satisfaction when Fran's teams fail. Iowans aren't quick to forget people who try to get them fired........

I know I'm in the minority here, but I love Fran for showing his frustration. MBB officiating in the B1G has been atrocious.

Maybe this brings a spotlight to the problem.
You mean the problem that has plagued the B1G for decades?

Pearl just got a $50 million dollar contract and Beilein is well aware of the limitations connected to the Iowa job. He would never take it at his age. Should have pulled the trigger on Pearl three coaches ago.

I saw it too....definitely traveled before hitting that shot. Someone should have fouled right before....a big coaching error.
Was there too much time on the clock to take that foul especially in college where clock stops on made shot? Under 6 seconds then definitely foul. 10 seconds - he shoots the 2 FT’s. Iowa inbounds hall and gets fouled. Still looking at 7-8 seconds left after iowa shoots FT’s. That’s a lot of variables depending on mare FT’s there and is guaranteeing another PSU possession.

Do you think Pearl makes it through the life of the contract? First thing I thought was no way, he’ll get caught doing something shady again.

He already got Auburn under sanctions and Pearl and Auburn don’t care. It is just another day in the SEC.

There are refs that make between $150-$200,00 a season. I know they are on the road a ton to do that but for 5 months, that's not bad.
