Sorensen

Seen a few comments already...can we stop with the bullshit "He doesn't deserve this or that" or the rest of the down talking? Brandon got outwrestled tonight, plain and simple...it happens.
Agreed, the difference was that shot he got in on, that Lugo scrambled out of and converted to a TD of his own.

He got out of position on that last scramble...could have sat and waited for the restart but inexplicably tried to adjust around and swung around into a bad position.
Do you remember how much time was on the clock in the SV when he got taken down? I thought that too, looked like he was fine to sit there and get a stalemate then he swung around and got in that weird position and tried to lock in the crotch but it was too late at that point, Lugo cut across for the double then.

Go back and watch this Gibbons vs Lewboo match. Not exactly perfect technique but it was fun to watch. Nelson needs to learn how to ride and turn and not leave that trail leg up close to his head. Other than that...let her rip. Hats off to Lara for staying with him for 5:30.

He will be in the finals with Zain.. will be great final for the next two years.

My concern is that he will be in the semifinals with Zain and not the finals. Still a great wrestler and competitor. I am not sure how a poster can decide whether a wrestler deserves something or not.

Unless he beats Zain at B10's he will be the 4 seed, or loses again to drop to a 6 or 7.
He picked a bad time to have a bad nighe.
He made his road incredibly tough.
He still will be a top 4 hopefully.

I llike his chances as a 6 or 7 seed better then 4 or 5 to make the finals and score more team points

Chief you might as well have just put my name on there. I don't mind the call out because I don't give a shit about what other people think about me. But I'll say this on Brandon's behalf: Mayes still has to go through the MAC tourney and he'll see Thomsen again and maybe lose twice at the tourney. He's not out of it but he no longer controls his own destiny.

Edit: and the way his season has gone he can't afford to have a bad night. And a championship contender's bad night should be an ugly close win, not a loss.

Not just you bro...there were others. It's a matter of perspective I guess...Brandon is either going to learn his lesson or he won't but the dude has been aces for us and I think this is his first loss since 2015 NCAAs against a "lesser" opponent. Lugo is a good one but Brandon shouldn't have lost...he sat back in OT and let Lugo initiate the action. Same with Collica. But I do think your caffeine levels were kind of high when you posted ;)

I think everyone is more bummed than anything. Trying to work around the bee hive you just can't get stung. BS got stung today. It is what it is though. BS has been one of Iowas best for three years. Nobody is disrespecting him for that. Just bummed that he lost. I think it would be disrespectful if fans weren't pissed about the loss.

Been somewhat disappointed with Sorensen's lack of aggressiveness and crispness in his finishes, but watching "wrestling with Iowa" makes me appreciate what a great kid he is and makes me root for him even harder.

Oh....I was too. But then it looked like Kemdawg went down hard because of his knee but he got up and finished his match. That ended the "I'm pissed" part of the evening because I was so happy he wasn't injured.

So he tweaked a knee, but he's not injured? I've heard conflicting stories.

Zain beats Collica tomorrow. Sorensen finishes 2nd at Big 10s. He is 2 of 3 seed.. finals against Zain,
How? I thought They don't put past results in the equation when doing seeds at nationals anymore. 2-3 might've been likely depending on how the B1G shapes out since collica lost to mayes but Sorensens loss to lugo throws a dagger into things

I agree. I think if he takes care of business in the B10s and beats Micah in the semis he'll be fine since all others ranked behind him also have one or more losses against lesser opponents. I just don't like the fact that BS was taken down 3 times...just doesn't happen.

So Brandon has lost 3 matches this year...........

All 3 in overtime...........

Back to JV for you son.

Bring grothus back.............woo hoo......

After the night to sleep on it I will change my wording as to what I meant. If he gets the 4 seed and has to wrestle Zain in the semis that's the seed he deserves for this year. As much as I'd like to see him in the finals against Zain he just didn't have the consistency this year. I'm not ripping BS just being a realist that whatever seed he gets he deserves.

I am starting to wonder whether Brandon is 100%. Just doesnt seem himself on a consistent basis. A lot more up and down this year.

It's just the crybaby fair weather fans. I read some of it - ridiculous

Theoretically, wouldn't Brandon stand a better chance getting Zain on Friday night as opposed to seeing him on full feed on Saturday?

Clearly, opposite side is the best path to the finals but I think same side gives him the best chance to win.

I agree that's his best chance to win it all but unfortunately I don't see it happening I think he would score more team points if he doesn't have Zain on his side I think he makes the finals even after the loss last night

In a year where a team title is not realistic, I rather him have a stand a slightly better chance of winning it all rather than playing for second.

Don't see it happening.

What's the reasoning? he's a solid wrestler who had a bad night I thing he picks it up when it counts imo
