South Dakota Pheasant Hunt--Recap

Just got back from the annual South Dakota Pheasant Hunting trip...with a little bit of duck hunting on the side. Pheasant numbers appeared to be up significantly but weather conditions were such that it was a difficult hunt...our four man group finished with 9,6,10, and 12 birds plus 13 ducks including mallards, gadwalls, shovelers, teal and a redhead. Enjoyed the beauty of the South Dakota prairie and especially enjoyed the freedom of consuming a few beers along the dirt roads and section lines of SoDak unencumbered by the nanny staters and the local gendarme. All and all another awesome trip and ready to go back in December.

One of my friends went to South Dakota every year to hunt.
He was an avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited. He and his
group always stayed at a farm house with a farmer and his
wife who cooked their meals. My friend was in the construction
business and enjoyed getting away from the city life to hunt
pheasant and ducks with his two dogs.
