Spencer and Nolf

Honestly I think most of their wrestlers seem like decent kids. They have the occasional douche on their team but every team does. It’s their fans and coaches that make that team easy to dislike.
Yeah, they all are once you listen to them speak except for Starfish, he's still an ass. Hopefully he grows out of it.

I believe you are correct. It is very hard to like a team when they are kicking everyones asses. I did meet Ruth and the Alton twins at a clinic and they were extremely nice, friendly, and all the things that you might expect from a Wrestler.

It is the bandwagon fans also that make them look like jerks. From what I have seen from the real fans, they too seem to be mostly cool people.

Certainly do not like the way the great Kralure went about building the team. Still and will always believe that they have gotten away with murder over their using fat$$$$man's slush fund. Meanwhile we have great kids suspended for doing nothing wrong!!!

Need to add - F the NCAA!!!!

We had Brooks and Starr come do a camp for us last summer and I loved both guys, albeit it was only for 3 days. They stayed at a parents house and we went to MLB game one night . Both were extremely well mannered and really worked hard with ALL the kids in camp and we had a lot of young kids there as well. Brooks is so genuine and a very humble man of God, which I know is not for everyone, but I loved it. Starr is very confident but hilarious. Both had great energy and are extremely competitive, which I think, if you are the opposition you don't like it. I know everyone of my campers LOVED the camp and learned a lot.

Yeah, the unwarranted juvenile hate of a school’s athlete or coach boggles my mind. It’s wild to watch people get behind coaches or athletes when they’re not sporting a school’s or a team’s colors and representing our country.

In the Cael era the wrestlers I respect: Nolf, Zain, Mega, Ed Ruth. Conversely, not so much: DT, Nickal, Starr
So strange the different perceptions. I hated Bo at Penn State. Met him at the duals in Niceville, nicest guy ever.
Saw him again in Vegas at the open. He was so humble and nice to everyone. I didn't speak with him but anyone that wanted a selfie or autograph he happily and humbly obliged. He spent 20 minutes or so until everyone was taken care of.
He converted me. 🙂

you guys loved the personality/character of Kemerer/Murin/KY. you'd love or respect that of Nolf/Zain/Nico.

those dudes are cut from the same cloth.
They all are from Pennsylvania. Of course you want everyone to love and respect them.

Little snippet i found recently. Thought I'd share..

(Just saw this hilarious post from Willie on Intermat replying to an Iowa loon talking about “paid haters”:

it's not speculation.

Tom Brands yelled at me in front of ...

idk hundreds of people at the US Open saying 'I know Penn State pays you to hate on us. I know they're paying you. how much do we have to pay you.'

utterly ridiculous and childish.

if i wanted to bury him and his program with unsavory facts that the public i would.

it seems he's doing a fine job of it on his own.)

Snake in the Grass. I wouldn't trust him any farther than I could throw him. Which is actually somewhat far

I’m with tiltman and IRONBIRD. Most here and in the Lion’s den (yes, I’m a troll) have bias toward their side, animosity toward the other. That’s stone fact and natural. But disregarding the tiny number of truly arrogant wrestlers (we cry Gilman/ADS, you scream Starr/Bo), I’m convinced the overwhelming majority of athletes at ALL schools in this most demanding collegiate sport are decent young men. I see Nolf, Brooks, and others respected here as people, but also enjoyed a Lion fan’s thread on meeting Jacob Warner in a Chicago bar and having all good things to say about that tough-as-nails Hawk. Myself, I watched an interview with Real Woods and liked that kid so much, it’ll be hard not pulling for him next March, even over equally likable Beau, who has future chances left. As for a future coaching pairing of Nolf/Lee, many in both camps would be curious to see what comes from such a Hawk/Lion combo regime. I’ll bet their light and middle weights would be terrors.

Frank Molinaro was my neighbor for a few years and he seemed reserved but a good dude. His parents are really good people and just super down to earth. (Father is from Ohio I believe before they moved to NJ.)

My nephews met Starr and Brooks at a camp at few years ago and their parents said they couldn't have been any more genuine or greater ambassadors for the sport.

Having met and watched Nolf wrestle since he was in Kittanning High School he is truly a class act. We all loved when Spencer was the face of Wrestling for the state of Pennsylvania... I knew he was really shocked and taken back when he hurt his knee his senior year and continued to wrestle into the state Championships...then lost a last minute takedown to DeSanto and the PSU faithful jeered and booed Spencer when he left the mat...I was disgusted at those grown men acting like childish A$$HOLES because Spencer chose Iowa over PSU... Nolf, Retherford, Brooks...have all been class acts and I am sure at given times most wrestlers tend to be on the edge...but the Hypocrisy of Bo and StallRocci when they speak of God and all their faith....yet act like Taunting their beaten opponents or talking smack is Christian like at all ??? thats what keeps me from truly liking either of those 2... but they really wouldnt care if i did anyways.
