And this lineup proves that you cannot win at the highest levels with Iowa high school talent. Can't fathom a guess who the highest in-State kid would be this year? Leisure and Coleman have nice numbers, but not on a national level.

Probably Teske. But I agree. Iowa HS talent lags the other top states. iirc, Teske got beat pretty easily by Decatur of OH in past year.

Iowa put two wrestlers in this event in 2015

Teske and Thomsen may have a shot next year

Could we also see Mejia vs Teasdale at the other 126 lb. match or does it have to be a PA senior? Would love to see Teasdale/Mejia!

Any good potential PA opponents at 195 for Warner?

Are you joking? The #2 ranked 195 Jake Woodley is all but a lock to be chosen for Team PA.

Warner vs Woodley may not have the WOW factor of Lee vs Fix, but this it is easily the second most anticipated match for me.

Jake Woodley will be taking his talents to the wonderful State of oklahoma to wrestle for Lou Roselli next year. As an aside, Lou Roselli has put together some amazing recruits in his short time down there. He hit Ohio and Pennsylvania hard. He got a commitment for Tommy Hoskins right away, who has soundly beat Ohio State recruit and former #1 ranked recruit Decatur multiple times now.

Pretty sure last time I went the weight allowance was 10lbs. Please correct me I've dangled with 6 lbs cause that's what the table said but a dad said 10. This was like 7 years ago helpz

True w Decautor but Coachs' son sure gave him a run

any one know if there is a crazy weight allowance or if it's 26 scratch?

That's a good question. I'm pretty sure Fix has a big size advantage over Lee right now. If they're giving a four or five pound allowance Lee will be at a big disadvantage. I suspect a big part of why he wants to redshirt is to give himself a chance to be an honest 125 pounder in college.

I should have read all the way down the thread. In that case Lee will be giving up at least ten pounds. I still like his chances; he's a damn beat from every position.

I really hope that we don't regret doing all we could to keep Justin Meja. A kid with CA high school credentials like his is pretty sure bet. I know Spencer Lee was the big time get of the Brands reign, but there is always room for more talent. The weights would have been worked out. A Lee, Meja, Teasdale lineup (in some order) would have been unbeleivable.

If I recall at the time Justin's dad said it was about money. There is only so much a program like Iowa can do when it comes to scholarship allotment. Signing Mejia could have potentially left no money for Teasdale for all we know.

Will it come with a guarantee that I will get to watch it live. The OSU match streaming was pathetic. I think the only way to see this thing live is to be there.

I find that doing some pre-match computer file cleaning, cache cleaning, etc. and I have much better results no matter whether watching Flo, BTN, BTN2GO or whatever.

It is usually an individual computer issue rather than the broadcast. Unless of course the Purdue Engineers are involved.

I think Oklahoma might have the number one class this year with 7 solid recruits.

What about Beard - didn't he just move up to 195? Must be hard for PA to have to decide if they want to send the #2 or #3 NATIONAL ranked guy out...

Watch mejia vs the Buchanan kid from the other day and idk if you'll think he's such a safe bet anymore. The kid could be good but I can see him not doing much. And the last kid from Cali who was going for 4 didn't end up to good in college with Cisneros who never made cornells line up.

Agreed, I'm not the least bit concerned about not getting Mejia. Our guy will beat him for 4 years

Was at the tourney in Newbury Park, CA before Christmas where Mejia got body slammed and knocked out. Layed there for a about 15 minutes. He's still recuperating from that nightmare I'll bet. It was brutal. Got it on tape, but someone walked right in from of me at the slam.
