Q: How did the junior day at Iowa go?

DYKSTRA: It went well.

Q: What did you do while you were up there?

DYKSTRA: We saw the weight room and some of their facilities and locker rooms. We saw some of the player position class rooms and stuff like that.

Q: Had you visited Iowa before?

DYKSTRA: This was my first time.

Q: What was your favorite part of the trip?

DYKSTRA: I really liked the player panel, which is where we could ask the player questions.

Q: When did they end up extending the offer?

DYKSTRA: We just got done with our meetings and everyone was going to start touring the weight room. They pulled me aside and said Kirk Ferentz wanted to talk to me in his office.

Q: What did Coach Ferentz say?

DYKSTRA: He just said that he liked how I played and that I was a good player who could do well there. He said that they want the best people in Iowa to be Hawkeyes.

Q: What were your first thoughts on the offer?

DYKSTRA: It is crazy and always great news, especially with a Big Ten school that went to the Rose Bowl last year. It was kind of overwhelming and crazy.

Q: Were you surprised by the offer?

DYKSTRA: I was definitely hopeful that they would but I wasn’t really sure if they would or not. I wasn’t sure.

Q: How do you feel about Iowa?

DYKSTRA: They are a great team and they continue to do well. They develop players really well, especially their linemen.

Q: What schools have offered you at this point?

DYKSTRA: SDSU, Colorado State, Iowa State, and Iowa.

Q: What other schools are interested?

DYKSTRA: There is UNI and Vanderbilt a little bit.

Q: What visits do you plan on taking?

DYKSTRA: I think I'll try and go back up to Iowa and Iowa State for some practices in the spring.

Q: Do you have a favorite right now?

DYKSTRA: No, not right now.

Q: When do you want to decide?

DYKSTRA: It kind of depends on how everything goes and where I feel most comfortable.
