What events are on your bucket list?

I went to the CWS last year. I want to go back. I also want to attend some March Madness games. But, probably more than anything, I want to be in Atlanta when my Braves play in a World Series.

What have you gone to and where do you want to go?

Honestly I used to have a bigger list….but anymore mainly “The Masters”. I enter the drawing every year, some year my number will come in.

I don’t watch half as much sports as I used to. Mainly the hawks football, women’s bball Fever and Da Bears. If those teams are not involved I’m fairly uninterested.

Been to a lot:
All golf majors
Super Bowl
Final Fours
World Series (Cubs)
Rose Bowls
Kentucky Derby
Monaco GP

The older I get, the more I appreciate my garage fridge and just watching on TV, especially The Masters. People always think how cool it would be to go (and it is), but that golf course is a bitch and you’ll feel it the next morning. It’s a helluva lot of walking after you scan your badge just to get to the course and then you actually have to walk it😂

Masters
World Cup, I'll definitely go to some games when the US hosts it in 26, hopefully with my sons
Game at Fenway
Premier League, no real preference as to which teams
La Liga, again no major preference as to teams

Oh, and I'll be there when FSU smokes Iowa for the college football National Championship

None really. Back in the long-ago day, I would have loved to attend the ACC tourney when only the winner got into March Madness. That was three days of absolute hell. I've been since then but it's not nearly the intensity unless your team is on the bubble.

The walk to Amen Corner is nothing...it's the walk back up that hurts!! When you first get there and stand at 18 green and look down at the course it all makes sense.

Word on Augusta National, but damn is it a beautiful course and worth the workout.

Kentucky Derby is on my list and that's it.

As I get older my desire to attend major sporting events has declined. Depending on the location something is being played may change that. If the Super Bowl or final four was close by and one of my teams were playing I’d have more of a desire to go.

I've been to a Super Bowl, numerous cfb national championship games, U.S. Open tennis tournaments, a Final Four and a world series.

#1 on my list would be the Monte Carlo Open. I think it's the coolest venue in sports.

When I retire, I'll take a month-plus trip to Europe. It will involve watching matches at these venues:

When I go, I don’t even walk down there anymore because I know I’ll have to walk back up😂. I’ll get down to the tee box on 8, but I’m not going any further

Liverpool match at Anfield
Masters
Monaco Grand Prix
I've been to the Masters, all I can say is that TV does it no justice at all for how PERFECT the grounds are, and the changes in elevation. Otherwise, once you're in, it's one of the least expensive sporting events to attend. The prices for food and drinks are extremely affordable.

Haven’t been and would enjoy:

1. World Cup
2. Olympic Track & Field Final Day
3. Indy 500 (circa 1980’s), not today
4. Hawks in Rose Bowl where they are competitive
5. MLB Championship series game or World Series game
6. Stanley Cup Final
7. Winter Olympic Hockey medal round match
8. Wimbledon (Queen’s box only)
9. SW Tijuana Cockfighting Finals

Have been that gave me sports boners:

1. Kentucky Oaks (Derby is for hats, celebrities, and dandy boys)
2. Christian McCaffrey’s Dance Party in Pasadena
3. College Football Playoff game
4. Iowa State Fair Tractor Pull (got my money’s worth)
5. Madison County Demolition Derby
6. Iowa High School Wrestling opening day at Vets (must see for wrestling aficionados)
7. DSM Bucs Clark Cup Finals (early 90’s). I’d put the Urbandale rink in that era up with Hamilton or any junior level Canadian venue for best atmosphere and drunks

1) English soccer match- preferably a premier level but would like to see my Burnley boyz at Turf Moor.

2) Daytona 500

3) USA World Cup match

I will be retired when the Olympics are in LA. Plan on going out there to see some events. Cycling being too priority. The World Tour will likely never come to the US and the circuit nature of the road race will get me multiple looks at some of the best riders.

Be nice if the UCI would also hold the world championships in the US that year. Might help draw riders.

I've been to a bunch of Players' Championships (Sawgrass)
Daytona 500
Bunch of Iowa football games/bowl games
Bunch of Jaguar games - Including 2 AFC Championship games
Masters
Florida Georgia (This is pretty damn cool as an outsider)
College Gameday

There's more but those are the most fond memories.

Been to both.

Hit some of the bourbon manufacturers locations while around and in L’ville for the Derby. Go Friday and Saturday, of course dressed up in your favorite gear for them. Races all week of the Derby so you can hit a lot of races.

Masters in ‘12 when Bubba beat Louie in a play off. Hearing the roars knowing something huge just happened is the best. Bo Van Pelt hole in one at 16 while at one tee was cool, Louie holing out for an albatross at two was another one that day then watching Adam Scott hit a hole in one on 16 was awesome.

Walking the course is great, very hilly which shocked us. To get to the course is a distance once you get inside the gates. Set up chairs at 16 then walked the course then came back to 16 to watch the final groups come through at the end of the day. It was like nothing you’ve ever seen, which is the truth.

Been to the Indy 500 and lots of Neckcar races so those are just ok to me. Indy was a great time though. Been to plenty of great golf courses and a few tournaments too. US Open at Congressional was the biggest one of them, besides The Masters.

For practice rounds I have to go watch the shenanigans from the hill next to 16 green. I like to people watch outside the ropes at the clubhouse. I asked Verne Lundquist, quietly, if I could take his picture and he said absolutely. I got to see Arnold Palmer. Faldo. Nancy Lopez. Yeah, I hope every golf fan gets a chance to go at least once. My wife couldn't care less about golf and she very quickly realized how cool Augusta was.

World Cup. I turn 50 in ‘26 and it has been on the top of my list since ‘86 when I was exposed to Maradona for the first time. Have no desire to see the US play. For 2 reasons
1. The tickets for them will be outrageously overpriced for a mediocre team
2. Too many dip shits there just because it’s the U S A.

Same.

I gave up my season FB tickets two years ago, and this past season is the first year I’ve not attended a single game since I was a toddler in the 70’s.

Don’t miss it a bit.

I’d like to attend an Eagles game in Philly with my son some day as I’ve gotten him on board, but NFL ticket prices are absurd.

I can’t justify spendingmore on a sporting event than a concert.

Going to a Yankees/Red Sox game at Fenway Park. My sons took me 2 years ago. Supposed to see 2 games, but the second one was rained out. That was the one we had tickets to sit on top of the green monster. They are taking the wife and I back in May for our 50th anniversary and we will have seats on top of the wall. If it rains again I will really be pissed.

Growing up a huge tennis fan during the Borg/Conners/Mac era and then the Agassi years, I would love to hit the Grand slam venues once in my life. If I had to pick one it would probably be Wimbledon.

I also would second the Monaco one as well. I just want to visit Monte Carlo.

No Pic was post chemo last year so it was a slog for her but she managed. I think the walk from the north lot to the 1st fairway was probably the worst of the whole thing. Unless it was the walk from the 18th green to the north lot.

Shenanigans indeed. We watched Scheffler and Homa try and skip balls onto the green. A few others as well.

What was cool about being there for the practice round was going green to green and watching the players throw down temporary holes to approximate daily pin positions and then spend time putting to each location.
